Goodman is singing Banana Republics right now.
Yes, I heard the show earlier.
Think I'll go to bed....everyone have a good night...or as good as it will be without Jimmy

Maybe Jimmy's trying out some of the new album material and is trying to keep it hush-hush. I think RM would have let folks know a long time ago that they weren't doing this show. Jimmy must have pulled the plug. Oh well.
Your prolly right. It was still scheduled as of 30 hours ago.
You know, now that it has been mentioned.....the last song from CA wasn't heard possibly because it was a new unreleased song. Wonder if that had anythng to do with not airing this show live???
Remember the last song from Sept Vegas wasnt broadcast. They said they couldnt record the show for CD and broadcast at the same time. AKA, were not broadcasting the last song so you have to buy the CD to have the show in its entirety.
I also have a feeling that with Jimmy seizing the opportunity to get some country radio play on the heels of "Five O'Clock" that keeping these songs off RM may be a bit of an overture to the country music establishment. They may not take kindly to being beaten to the punch on airplay. With Kenny Chesney and others on the bandwagon and the success of "Five O'Clock," Jimmy's on the verge of mainstream country superstardom ... as much as it pains me to say that, knowing it'll be even harder to get tix.

I'm thinking tonight was staffing issues. How many new songs would Jimmy play at a place he rarely plays at? If he does play a lot, I'm gonna be kinda upset he didnt bust them out for the Grand Opening.
I don't understand why they wouldn't broadcast the show live anyway. They can always play the replay, and I'm guessing they would have more people listening to RM if they broadcast it then they have now (I've turned it off).
What he lacked in ambition, he made up with intuition...
I was kinda specualting today that Jimmy is not going to get the airplay everyone is imagining. After all it is still a Jimmy Buffett album. 5OCS was an Alan Jackson album.
Well, who knows about airplay? I can see it both ways. Country music sales were way down in 2003, and 5OCS was one bright spot. The execs have a tendency to seize everything that seems hot and ride it til it burns out. They may want to see "if there's anything to this Buffett phenomenon." Then again, the album could s*** or play too much to today's lame country tastes. I'm OK with his getting no airplay so we Parrotheads can keep him to ourselves. It's not like he's gonna go broke.
I just dont think Jimmy has a voice for mainstream country. I think they might play some of them at first, but I just cant see the country DJs playing it over and over. Who knows....I wonder if Jimmy is even shooting for airplay power. All these treads have been blown way out of proportion.
Good morning all.
I just sent RM an email asking to please consider playing the last show live. I don't know that it will help, but maybe if anyone that is interested would email and ask nicely. Well, it can't hurt . And maybe they don't know there are some of us Late Nighters anxious to hear Jimmy live. Just because they are sleeping, it doesn't mean everyone is
