This was my sixteenth show, and I have never left disappointed. His energy was very high and his age has not slowed him one bit. He did make the comment that as long as people continue to come to the shows he will continue to tour. Which always good to know!!! Mac's song Ass & a hole was great, I cannot wait to see at the Variety Playhouse tommorrow.

Jimmy gave what looked to be a rejuvenated show on a clear, hot and humid Thursday night in Atlanta. With the Walter Cronkite Countdown, the show began with "Lage Nom Ai". Bubba was all over the stage for the first set, firing off "Ringlin Ringlin" and "Gumbo". If you were tuned in to RM, you know the setlist didn't change all that much from the first part of the tour, but what you missed was an energetic crowd that blew the top off of Lakewood Amphitheater.

The second set brought Mac's soon-to-be-classic "Ass and the Hole" done acoustically with Jimmy, Mac, Fingers and Utley out front. Crowd fizzled on this one, I think, but they'll get it sooner or later, maybe as the sales of Mac's "Word of Mouth" increase.

The second set was for the PHair-weather Heads out there, with most of hits timed for maximum effect. Incidentally, behind the MSPHC seats, a couple was engaged to be married during Son of Son. Our surrounding sections almost brought the show to a halt with resounding round of applause. Quaint.

The encores sent us away longing for Saturday night and another 20 years of this Summertime ritual. "Pacing the Cage", as in previous shows, wound out the night.

Buffett's back in Atlanta, and still throwin a kick-ass party.

My eighth show and it was great! Ringling, Ringling, The Ass and the Hole, and the honky tonk version of Stars on the Water were all nice surprises. The Reefers were tight; but Jimmy got lyrical amnesia on Southern Cross - only to recover like he can. Great show, see you in Cincy on August 19th. The weather is here, wish you were beautiful!

This was my first show, even though I've been a fan for years. The show was great, everything I expected! The mix of old and new songs made the show. One of my favorites was Southern Cross. I can't wait til next year!

Jimmy seemed energized for this concert and the addition of the pedal steel guitar, especially on "Come Monday" was an excellent touch. The set list, including some of the songs from his new CD, but still many of the old favorites, showed the respect that he has for his diverse audience - an extremely important characteristic for a performer to have. The timing of the Coral Reefers was excellent and all in all, even though last year's show was excellent, if possible, he was better this year. An added treat was the next night at the Variety Playhouse where Mac was playing. First Fingers came up and then Jimmy himself came up, singing seven songs with the Mayers', Mac, Fingers and Tina. It was a great, intimate night, with Jimmy - who is VERY MUCH the boss of the outfit - being very open and funny, doing a lot of things he doesn't at the larger venues. His language was a bit raunchier, his guitar playing more versatile, and his singing superb, especially when p! airing with Mac. He was also funnier than at his larger venue concerts, if that can be believed. It was a great surprise and well worth the $15 bucks!!! He was barefooted but came back on the encore with shoes on -- he also had long pants on and no yellow shirt or wristbands. His fondness for the personal touch with his fans was evident. He also displayed a razor-like wit when some jerk drpped a beer bottle doing Mac's performance and Jimmy needled the miscreant, much to the delight of everyone. For anyone who has never seen Jimmy perform close up and personal, this was a real treat. He was excellent. Mac was magic on the guitar and Fingers was awesome. This, along with the magic at Lakewood, was something to cherish. I have seen many top-flight acts over the years and in many venues (including Elvis, Bruce, Dylan and the Stones), and I am not some kind of starry-eyed groupie kid, but Jimmy is right up their with the best. Along with Bruce and Elvis, his obvious love and respect for his fans makes him stand with the best ever. Let's all encourage him to keep on going..we need more true pros like him. Thanks.

Review : This had to be the BEST Buffett concert I have ever been to... I'd never been to Alpine before, and was amazed at how great the tailgating was! The crowd was really into the concert, and I could hear everyone singing along, even to the more obscure songs. Highlights were Peanut Butter Conspiracy, Pagscalouga Run, Southern Cross, and Semi-true Stories. I am DEFINITELY going back next year - it's worth the 6 hour drive!

Review : I never thought any concert could top the first time I saw Buffett, but the Alpine Valley concert was the best Buffett show I've seen. This was my fourth, definately not my last, and the 2nd time I've seen him at Alpine. Heard some songs that I hadn't seen live before and they rocked. Played all the classics and the crowd got into them. FINS was great. Hope to be back at Alpine again next year. PHINS UP!!!
