I always set up my capture to start early and run with no time limit to allow for late startups that may cause the show to run later than usual.

It only takes one time of losing the end of a show to learn to set open ended capture times instead of "capture for 3 hours" when you set up a recording time limit. Same rule applies for DVR recordings.
