Hello Mel, Penny, and Bill. Just preparing for the blizzard heading our way. Big bummer last night: cable was out around 10pm, so I couldn't catch my favorite weekend show. I've missed it for the past three weeks.

Bellingham (MA) is set for about two feet of snow...and that's on top of the one foot that's still on the ground at my place. Stay warm and safe, everyone!

This week, we finally had some grass visible (OK, only over the septic, but still ) after 5 weeks of not seeing any, only to have it covered again Friday night. After the N'oreaster tonight/Monday, I suspect it will be at least another month before we see any again! Oh, well... it's good for the water table!

Verizon...I'm thinking of switching next year. Things are getting pricy. I must admit that the User Interface and selection is great. Now, I've just talked myself out of it

Hello Penny, doing ok. Keeping busy with work. Carrying on with the day to day. Brothers birthday coming up week from tomorrow so that will be emotional of course. Trying to enjoy the little “escapes” in life when possible.

Great picture, Mr. SPH. I agree with you. The Canadian team had two Avalanche players, and I felt bad (just a little) for them. And they all looked almost angry at their team loss.

Very happy for team USA. Lots of emotions there.

Isn't Brock Nelson of the US team on the Avalanche too? What a story for him... his grandfather and great Uncle won Gold in 1920 and his uncle won one in 1980! Great gilded genes in that family!!

Devon Toews from the Avalanche was on the Canadian team too. Nelson has another great uncle who was on the 1956 Olympic hockey team and won a silver medal. Nelson and Toews are also both former NY Islanders.

The Hurricanes had 5 players in the Olympics - one won gold, one won silver and one won bronze. The other two are both from Denmark and they were eliminated in the quarterfinals. There were three former Hurricanes on the U.S. team.

Their younger brother Luke, who plays for the Devils, was the 4th overall pick in the draft in 2022

The Seattle Kraken had two players (forwards Eeli Tolvanen and Kaapo Kakko) on the Finnish Bronze medal team and a goalie (Philipp Grubauer) on the German team.
