We have Echo Shows connected to our Alexa with a unit on our kitchen counter and another down in Mountain View, CA at MrsSPH's 98 year old mother's place. She just says "Alexa, drop in on Kathleen" and she connects with us for whatever is going on. Alexa will also make phone calls, so she can say "Alexa, call Kathleen" and it will call her cell phone. I've programmed it so she can call any her direct family members that way. When we first got them about nine years ago, it was a good way for her to check in on us, but now she's almost totally blind and it's just about her only way to communicate with any of us.

I may not be able to party like I used to, but if I take a nap, I can usually stay up ‘til dark....
