So, Cameron just ordered me an Alexa. Last night I went to go to bed, and forgot to turn on my night lights (they're built into my headboard). I went to sit on the edge of the bed, and I missed it by a few inches. I fell to the floor, and the corner of my nightstand jumped out at my side/ribs. And yes, it hurts a LOT.

We have Echo Shows connected to our Alexa with a unit on our kitchen counter and another down in Mountain View, CA at MrsSPH's 98 year old mother's place. She just says "Alexa, drop in on Kathleen" and she connects with us for whatever is going on. Alexa will also make phone calls, so she can say "Alexa, call Kathleen" and it will call her cell phone. I've programmed it so she can call any her direct family members that way. When we first got them about nine years ago, it was a good way for her to check in on us, but now she's almost totally blind and it's just about her only way to communicate with any of us.
