My friends and I flew in from Boise, Idaho to
see Jimmy. This was my first time (my friends
were well seasoned)and it was a kick in the
pants. The concert was great, the party a hoot
and what fun to see all the other ParrotHeads.
We spent the day and evening with thousands of
our closest friends. What bonds you more than
a Jimmy experience?!!

Saturday night, I came to a great revalation. I had been attending Jimmy Buffett concerts for at least 23 years. Hard to admit at first, but a source of pride now.
I can say without hesitation, that it was the best concert I have attended. The music was great, the beer was cold but most of all the Parrottheads were in full force and the fun did not stop!
For a moment outside in the park, listening to Conched Out play, and standing in line while the Gordon Biersch Guys got a standing ovation for bringing in another keg, dancing in the sun light, beer in hand, I almost felt like I was back in college at a really good KEG PARTY! (GREAT MEMORIES)
I loved it, and hope I can continue to attend Jimmy Buffet Concerts for a long time. And a special Thank you to my fabulous husband, who took me for my birthday, and in the last 10 years has really come to understand the value of parrottheads and just a damn good time.

My friends and I flew all the way from CT. It was well worth the trip. The pre show party was awesome. The concert was one of the best I've seen. Can't wait until next show. For the people who got made that we took the banners, get over it. F-Rubo

Had a GREAT time at the concert. Thought it was wonderful. Jimmy and all the coral reefers looked like they were having a good time. Once again the Vegas pre-concert party was phantastic also. Can't wait to see the next show!!!

Loved the show, slightly disappointed that he closed with "Viva Las Vegas" instead of "Pacing the Cage". Phans were great, did notice an absence
of "bad habits" inside the concert. In other words, all were well-behaved (the MGM Gestapo were very much in evidence!). And the Afro guys were sitting behind me at the concert-so was the "Nobody knows I'm a -------" guy!! 4 of us flew from Denver (since he blew us off) and really enjoyed the songs, dug up from the "grooveyard of forgotten hits"-when was the last time you heard "Ringling"???? All in all, he's only gotten better-and we fans appreciate being told that he's not retiring soon!!!!!!!!!!

Oh My GAWD!!! I was a Vegas first timer and I usually see Jimmy outdoors at Camden; we had the best time ever!! How could anyone NOT have the time of their life at show? The party at the park took the place of our usual tailgate and we managed to get unbelieveable seats with some of the best phans and nicest people this East Coast girl has ever met. I just wish we could have brought more of the Phlock with us!! Now, all I'm doing is counting down the days till June 10, our next concert!!! P.S. I still think the show should have been closed with a "BUBBA HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!"

NAVYMOM-HI, I'VE BEEN AWAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. THANKS FOR RESPONDING. I'M V-E-R-Y EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO KEY WEST THIS YEAR. TO USE A PHRASE I USED YEARS AGO, THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME. I WILL KEEP IN TOUCH WITH YOU AND THE OMAHA PARROT HEAD CLUB DURING THE YEAR, YOU'RE NOT THAT FAR AWAY, AND AS I TOLD YOU ON ANOTHER SITE, SOME OF THE GANG FROM OMAHA THAT CAME TO CEDAR RAPIDS LAST YEAR FOR THE "ISLAND FEST" WERE SOME OF THE NICEST AND FUN LOVING GROUP I EVER MET. CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU AND SOME OF THE REST. AND IF YOU EVER GET A CHANCE TO SEE JIMMY IN LAS VEGAS, I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND IT. I GUESS IF YOU GET TO SEE HIM ANYWHERE, BOTTOM LINE IS IT PROBABLY DOESN'T MATTER WHERE, BUT VEGAS IS A BLAST. EVEN THE NATIVES ARE FRIENDLY. ESPECIALLY THE PARROT HEAD NATIVES. STAY SAFE, FINS UP, GOD BLESS YA!!!!!

I personally think one of the best parts of the Vegas concert was "Walter" in his Hawaiian shirt! Go Mr. Cronkite! The all day party before, the phabulous phans, the concert, yes, they were all almost as good as the one in 1997. However, I could have done without closing with "Viva Las Vegas". Yes, it was appropriate for the city we were in, but it only left me hoping to hear one more Jimmy song, not Elvis. Ah.. Too bad Denver isn't included in Jimmy's visits this year.. We can only hope for next year to once again his his magical musical memories!!

We've seen Jimmy at least 10 times. We traveled to Las Vegas from Pennsylvania and we had a great time. It was my first time in Vegas, and I loved it.
I think it was great that MGM threw the pre-show party. They didn't have to do that. Granted, the drinks were expensive (they are at every concert), but everything else was free. That band "Conched Out," was so funny. I liked the cheesy "best hat" contests and stuff that they did before the show.
My wife and I even lucked out and ended up on the video during CILCIA. We were the couple with the rubber sharks on our noses. Cool seeing ourselves up there -- finally!
I thought the weirdest moment of the day was when that guy threw the trained bird off of the sky coaster. What was that all about? Did that bother anyone else? I mean, what was the point? Animal cruelty?
I thought the JB show was good. I've seen BHOTM tour now 3 times myself, and Bubba seemed to really enjoy this crowd/performance. It was bizarre to see him indoors (a first for me) and I have to disagree with those of you that thought that the sound was good. We were in the nosebleeds (sect 205U) and we couldn't understand a word Jimmy said. The sound did get better as the concert went on, but it wasn't nearly loud enough. The crowd noise in there was staggering.
The most annoying part of the experience in my mind is that there is only one way out of the Grand Garden Arena. Now I realize that they want you to go through the casino on your way out of the building, but the bottleneck that that caused was ridiculous.
My advice: Stop worrying about all of the "stupid stuff" - drink costs, etc and just enjoy the show for what it is -- a few hours of escapism from your normally hum-drum life.

This was my second time seeing Jimmy in
concert...saw him last year in Vegas too. I also
had a difficult time getting tickets thru
Ticketmaster...I believe I got the last 6 tickets
together...and I was lucky to get those. I was
trying for the most expensive tickets and ended up
with the cheapest...second row from the top but
dead center. And you know what? They were
actually decent seats! Yeah, you couldn't see him
that well, but there are the big screens and I
have awesome binoculars. We had a nice crowd
around us (although the rhythmically challenged
were in front of us...but they were
entertaining!!!), and luckily for me they did not
stand the whole time. I have some health problems
that prevent me from standing for long periods of
time (as much as I want to) and since I am short
it sometimes causes a problem. But everything
worked out well this year. MGM did jack their
room prices up...they told me that on the
phone...but they also transferred me to NY NY to
see if I could get a better deal, and I did. Much
better, in fact. Yeah, drinks and food are
expensive there...but I go to Vegas expecting that
so I don't let it bother me. I thoroughly enjoyed
the show. I'd be hard pressed to pick my
favorites, but I guess I would say Brown-eyed Girl
(cuz I am one!) and Southern Cross, and of course
Fins...oh heck...I liked them all!!!
The preparty was a blast too--I love seeing all
the hats and costumes. And there are not many
places you can go with that many people and not
have any problems. A nicer bunch of people you
will never meet. I will definitely go back to
Vegas. It was a great mini vacation for me and it
couldn't have come at a better time.
PA Parrothead...what is this about someone
throwing a "trained bird" off the sky screamer??
Thank God I missed it...I might have decked the
guy when he got off. Can you tell me about it?
Anyway...great show...great fans...great time!!!
I smile every time I look at my stuffed shark with
the parrot hanging out of his mouth that I carried
around in my backpack!!! He brings back fond
memories! Can't wait til next year!!!! Maybe I
will meet some of you!

Been seeing Jimmy for about 12 years now. We came from Canton, Ohio to this one. Thought he was very impressed with US..the crowd! It was awesome, yes the prices are expensive but I do not have to buy alot of beer to have fun at his concerts! Nobody should complain about ANYTHING! The way I look at it, we should all be grateful that we are all here at the same time on this earth to enjoy his music!

UFFET RULES!
Gotta say this was my first Concert and I usually travel to Vegas at least twice a year. Haven't been to a concert like this one in LV. Singing and Dancing without the threat of violence was to me unreal (especially in LV) Parrotheads are the greatest partiers in the WORLD! I have to say the people were the friendliest and happiest crowd I've ever been around at a concert. Alot of the prices were high but I do expect that whenever I go to Vegas. Thanks for the memories Gary, Kevin, Pat & Pudda, Randy & Alex and especially Jimmy. Pardon me Bubba but I need to plug
http://islandfever.jumptunes.com a real fun site. Special thanks goes out to the girl with the vibrating shark during the pre-Jimmy party!

I liked the Vegas show too. However, I thought the sound quality was poor. I even had decent lower level seats. 2nd time I've seen Jimmy in an an indoor venue.
The pre-party was great. Phans, Phriends were all great.

FINS-UP
I have been seeing Jimmy since 1973 and this was one of the greatest concerts I've seen. I took my roommate to his first concert, he thought he was a Buffet fan before, and he could not believe people could have so much fun. If the group of parrot-heads from San Jose, standing in front of the Gordan Biersch stand with the shark suit on, read this please e-mail me. I'm the guy in the fish aloha shirt on and it was my birthday.
Thanks to Jimmy and all the
Phans

Well, what can I say. I have been to see Jimmy from the 70's in Pittsburgh to the latest show in Las Vegas on April 15th, 2000. That's a lot of music in 30 years or so. My girlfriend couldn't make the show for the first time in three years so I took a friend who had never been. Without doubt, this was the best show I have seen. And not necessarily because of Jimmy and the band but also because of the people who were at the show. The theme park and music there was great, the atmosphere of the MGM Grand was great, the price of beer sucked (can't win them all), and the weather was great. I damn near cried during the concert when I realized that Jimmy has been so much a part of my life for so many years that I felt the need to call my girlfriend back in Texas on the cell phone during FINS!! Her favorite song. There are very few people who can make you feel so good no matter what the situation. Jimmy is one of those. I can appreciate all the people who had complaints but to complain about the concert because of Ticketmaster problems is a bit misguided. At least they got tickets which so many did not. I am not condoning Ticketmaster cause I, like others, spent hours trying to get my tickets, but I got them and that's all that matters. Let's not sweat the small things when we were at least one of only 18,000 people who got to see Jimmy that night. God bless Jimmy, his band, and his music that has given me pleasure for many years. See you again in a Buffett city soon.
