You got me there! Ok, so maybe I should say maturity of flavor, not necessarily of the consumer.

Since it's not a term that gets mentioned in the same sentence as my name either, I see your point :D

I had some on my visit last June at a restaurant in Hamilton. OMG.....I may consider becoming a permanent resident of Bermuda just to get that stuff!!! :o
I have not had the pleasure but that just gives me one more reason to put a trip to Bermuda on the bucket list. 8)

The link to "How to Drink Like Hemingway in Key West" is good. My wife would say they could lose the babes in bikinis........maybe so, but still some good information about the bar scene in KW! :pirate:
:pirate: So your wife wants the Babes to lose the Bikinis??

I like the way she thinks!!!!!

I decided to try out this recipe for Key Lime Rum Cake tonight: http://www.keylimejuice.com/recipes/key ... m-cake.htm

I sent my husband to the store to get ingredients and he some how "accidentally" came home with a bottle of 151 proof Gosling's Black Seal. I'm thinking this cake is going to kick ass! :pirate: Will report results back later...if I'm still sober enough to type after eating it.

We tried the super-ultra rare family estate stuff in Key West several years ago. We were there in July, and it was just us, the bartender and the manager for most of the day. We made friends, and they both wanted to try it, so we all did. We ALL thought it was awful.

El Dorado 12 year. There's just something about a demerara rum to me that screams MORE!

Neat, slightly cooled or with a splash of ginger beer and lemon.

As a new memeber, I feel the need to contribute:

Softball Parent cocktail-- 20 ounce bottle of water, one packet of grape G2 Gatorade, one shot of Sailor Jerry's, one shot of Cruzan Coconut. Hydration with a buzz, no hangover, great camoulflage for your drink.

Tom's Beach Rumrunner-- 16 ounces Hawaiian Punch Lite (minimal sugar), one shot of Sailor Jerry's, One shot of Cruzan Coconut, 1/2 shot of Captain Morgan's black spiced rum. Vigorously mix your rum with crushed ice first, then add the HP Lite. Enjoy!!!
I'm not saving for retirement, but I'm seeing the world one softball field and beach at a time
