Try connecting a computer directly to the modem and see if you can get online. Check access to jokelben. If you can, then the router is the problem. It may need a hard reset.

Bob -
My apologies, I am at my other residence and I am able to get through to the site from this connection. I believe that it has to be the router/connection at my other house.
Being only semi-lit on computer stuff, can someone tell me how to do a "hard reset" of my router? And is it possible that my service provider "blocked" the site. I use comcast there and time warner here.
Thanks in advance
A very grateful Steve

It's is not likely that Comcast is blocking the site as I have Comcast and connect just fine to jokelben. As for resetting the router the only way I know of is to unplug the power cord from the router, wait at least 60 six seconds and then power cord back in and the router will reboot itself.

Depending on the router model, there may be a small button on the back to do a reset. You'll have to use a paper clip or similar pointed object to press the button.
1: Press and hold the small reset button for about 10 seconds.
2: While holding the button, unplug the power supply from the router. Release the button.
3: After 10 seconds, plug the power supply back in and let the router boot up and stabilize. The lights will come on and remain steady with occasional flickering.
4: Open your browser and go to:
http://192.168.1.1. The user name will be blank and the password will be "
admin". Your router should now be setup with default settings.
Before you go through all that, have you tried connecting a computer directly to your modem? This will verify that "there is a router to blame".
(sorry, couldn't resist...)

Ok, status update. Did what was suggested (both direct to puter and hard reset). No work:-(
Brought home laptop that DID work at my other residence. Tried it both ways as above also. No work:-( Also tried my son's macbook, no go.
Seems to continue to time out, message states cannot connect to server or server not responding.
Going to try at the library in my town and see if I can get in there today.
I have no idea??????

I still say you need to force a change in your IP address, but I have no idea how to do that. I'm sure SunLover or Someone can tell you.

It may actually be an issue with the DNS servers that Comcast uses. I had a similar experience with Earthlink using their own "404 not found" redirect page which would come up even if the page was available, but just taking a while to load. It was messing up a work-from-home setup I was using.
I found this thread about changing the DNS servers.
Comcast forum: Can't connect to certain websites
Using
OpenDNS may resolve some of the routing issues with Comcast. I have not tried OpenDNS, but may check it out to see how it works. It boasts faster, more reliable connections.

So there is still a problem with your home connection, right? You mentioned earlier in the thread that you tried 3 different computers and an Android device and none could connect. If you are using that same computer at two different locations, one connects and the other does not, the problem may still be with Comcast, probably with their DNS servers. That's something that they may be able to help you with. They should provide support if you are using their modem.

I just checked both the FTP and HTTP access and they are working.
If you are trying to connect via FTP are using the correct password?

Here is the correct http link:
http://buffett.jokelben.us
I just logged in to the server via FTP and removed some suspicious files that might have been triggering the problem
Give it another try and if you still get know where I will walk you through setting up FTP access.
**Update I just tried clicking the link I posted from here on BN and got redirected however when I click my bookmark for jokelben it works fine. Instead of clicking the Jokelben HTTP link from here on BN copy and paste it in to either a new browser window or tab**
