I went to the Nashville cocert last year, and when we were going into the venue there was about three or four people standing on the side of the road selling tickets. Maybe if they get desperate and have to sell the tics before the show they will ask a decent price!! :pirate:

Make a colorful, easy-to-read sign that says "NEED TICKETS!!!!!" and go to all the tailgate and pre-parties and hold it up. Maybe you'll get lucky. Are the scalpers who sell along the road, and in the parking lot legit? :o ELEVEN DAYS!!!!!!!

One time at a Cincy concert. We took a van-load of people without tix. We wrote big signs on the van windows with shoe polish that said, WE NEED TIKCETS! There were people jumping into the road in front of us to sell us their tickets. We all had tickets even before we stopped to tail-gate. And not one of us paid more than face value!

Sounds like the ticket gods were riding on top of your van that day, S&J!!!!!!!!!! Are the Knoxville people going to the Friday nite thing at the Beer Sellar? That's way the heck downtown.....if we go, we will probably take a taxi/van because with our group, there will most likely NOT be a designated driver!!!!!!! :o :D :wench:

About half of the SMPHs will be downtown at the Beer Sellar on Friday night! I'll definately be there. The rest are coming up on Sat. morning. We're staying downtown on Friday night and plan on walking to the Beer Sellar! No designated drivers needed for the whole weekend!

You coming by the Beer Sellar citcat?

citcat -- HA! I forgot about your nuts!!!!

Not sure who the opening act is or if there even is an opening act. St. Somewhere is scheduled in Alabama that day, so I know it's not them. It is a horrible experience trying to get in touch with anyone at Am South that knows anything! Last time I called them, I got transfered 4 or 5 times before I got anyone that could help me. And that person wasn't exactly nice to me either! I do remember that last year the opening act started at 6:30. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on that subject.

I KNOW there has to be a band playing on the 'plaza' stage...but I've been to every web site I can think of for this concert, the venue, the band web pages, margaritaville.com, etc. I may just try calling AmSouth too....oh heck, I don't have the time for all the pass-around phonecalling. I'll just wait and be surprised...not easy for a control freak like me!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :D

According to margaritaville.com, the Tiki Time Hula contest is at 6:45 p.m. at the Plaza stage. Don't know what this means for an opening act!

The pholks that care about the opening act are the pholks that want to keep partin' between the time that the pre-party (at the Holiday Inn @ The Crossings) is over and the time that Jimmy comes on stage! Down time is not fun!

Yeah, I remember how much fun the few hours before the concert were because of St. Somewhere! I can't imagine just wandering around, no band, with our little two-drink wrist bands on, trying to keep a good buzz going. :o

Hey Parrot Heads!

If you plan on attending the pre-party at the Holiday Inn @ The Crossings, it may be a good idea to throw a lawn chair in the trunk of your car. It seems that we are expecting more people than the Holiday Inn has seats for!!! But there's plenty of room for you to park your lawn chair under our party tent! OR... if you're like me, you'll be up dancin' the whole time anyway, so who needs a chair!!!!!
