Smart @$$ Walker

I was sitting on a park bench a few days ago. It's a popular place for walkers. From one direction a girl was walking her dog coming towards me. There was a young adult male coming from the other direction towards me.
As the walkers were passing by each other in front of me the guy says, "That's a nice monkey you got there."
The girl says, " It's a dog stupid."
The guy says, "I was talking to the dog."
