Went & saw the Doobies last year at PK, mostly because Steve Winwood opened for them.
Possibility exists will do the same for the same reason.........the opening act.
However, I am concerned about the ticket prices. :( We'll see

I have to admit when I saw the announcement this morning it made me chuckle!
Now they just need to go all-in, and get Willie or Snoop Dogg involved!

I know. I really really really want to go, but don’t want to pay hundreds. And I kinda want to just see the CRB and tailgate.

Same. Will probably just to Jax in March.

For Pine Knob, lawn is $41.80 +fees. Pavilion starts at $59 for far left/right/top, but goes up substantially once you get more center or further down. Center H is over 300. RightCenter HH is $145. You get the gist.

I'd settle for the lawn at Star Lake. It's always a party and I want the tailgate over the show.

Questioning if the venue will allow the EARLY lot entries like they have in the past. Will be surprised if "full scale" tailgating setups will be in play

Star Lake typically opened early enough for all concerts. For Buffett the club got in at noon. Our club president knows the manager. Our buses rolled by a mile of cars.

Pushing the gates at Pine Knob was always a bit scary but a ton of fun. We usually ended up overloading the park and ride off I-75 by 7 am and then move to line up/block Sashabaw by 10ish. They would always tell us the gates wouldn’t open until like 2 but once we had traffic backed up on I-75 off the Sashabaw Exit they would let us in by noon. Man those were the good ole days.

For all I know they always planned to let us in by noon, but still made for a fun morning of trying to outsmart the authorities while having mid morning margaritas.

Saw the Reefers in Atlanta last summer and it was a good time. Also saw the Doobies open for The Eagles in Raleigh a little while back. It was umm, less than optimal. They just didn't sound good. I'd really need to see how long the CRB set list will be before I commit because that's who I'm going to see, not the DB.

I saw the Doobies last summer with Steve Winwood. Winwood was the main reason I pulled the trigger on the show.
I'm not even considering the Doobies into the equation this summer. Like you, I'd like to see what setlist they put our there as an opener.
UNFORTUNATELY, we currently have the leadoff show of this double bill tour so don't have that luxury. POSSIBLE I may punt on the local venue here in Michigan & wander down to Cincy or Indy in September...or even Pittsburgh who's in the on deck circle of the tour, as I've never been to that venue [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif] Guess Only Time will Tell what I do :pirate:
