Scorching Sunday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning!

Record today is 98, they're predicting 99. Good thing we're not going anywhere.

Got the car back... I'll go back in a week, after driving it 100 miles, to make sure they got all of the leaks. :(

Hope you all have a good Sunday!! :)

Good morning, Penny. The heat these days keeps me in too. Keep us posted on the car.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Penny and Bill.

Another day with the heat index near 110, it's already 103. I'll have to go to the mall again, can't walk outside in this weather. Last week when I was in Fargo the temperature was in the 70s and the humidity wasn't close to what it is here.

Watched the live stream at my oldest daughter's church and got to see the youngest granddaughter get baptized!
Went to Costco yesterday and today is menu prep and using up ingredients before they go bad. I have a new pork chop recipe in the crockpot for dinner tonight, and Apple Pie Sour Cream Coffee Cake cooling on the counter and 4 dozen peanut butter triple chip cookies to bake off. The last load of laundry is in the washer and when Bryan gets home with the vanilla ice cream I'll make some semi homemade Oreo Ice Cream. Then I'm going to do a bunch of nothing!
Happy Sunday 😀

Not quite as toasty here in the Great Lakes state as it is for some of your other folks. However, it’s pretty warm by our standards and humid.
Have wasted a total of probably four or five hours trying to figure out how to put together a stupid hose real cart. Put it together once and at the end doesn’t work properly. thought maybe I screwed up, took it all apart and put it back together step by step (instructions guy here) again same issue. I tend to not be a confident person when doing these things so I Even asked the retired neighbor who spends more time tinkering in his garage fixing things than he spends in his house to take a look at it and he’s scratching his head about it. Something ain’t right he said. It’s either faulty engineering or I’m missing a part that is unaccounted for. I’m not a happy camper.

Hope the rest of you ARE happy campers today.

I see Tammy is tearing it up in the household today!! WOW

Hmmmm... that sounds puzzling, Ken. Did it not roll up, or did no water come from the hose?

If Alec Baldwin was in town he would have schweddy balls today. The last time I checked it was 94 degrees and the heat index was 113. Just walking from my car into the mall was brutal.

No pool or beach for us today -- it's too stinkin hot out there.

So -- we will just hang out in the AC. However, there are at least 2 homes in our community (of 360) that have NO AC right now. They are asking on our FB page for someone the neighborhood that can help since ALL of the large commercial companies are backed up for hours with service calls. Luckily with the # of folks here there are least 2 guys who do this type of work (and have their work vehicles with them) and are willing to help out.

I may be the "chilliest" one here today... it is only in the low 70s but with drizzly rain so I am also indoors.

Linda - what a nice community that seems to be. :)
When our downstairs unit went on the fritz it was nearly 2 WEEKS to get an appointment. :x At least we had our upstairs unit to sleep comfortably and somewhat cool the front of the house because of the open foyer. The weather also cooperated, dropping out of the 90s for a significant portion of the time. But I really should not complain, the guy who fixed it wrote it up as an "installation error" because the insulation on the main power cable did not go right to the end and a mouse bite shorted it out (was not good for the mouse either) so we were not charged for either the fix or service call. Probably because the annual maintenance guys have missed seeing this FOR 10 YEARS! :o

Speaking of weather... I saw that Tampa hit 100° today - for the first time EVER!! :o There is something to be said for that Gulf Coast Breeze!

Dr C - Those hose carts can be a royal PITA! After going through several over the years, we finally just gave up on them and now stow the coiled hose under the edge of our deck.

:D Indeed. Don't we all? ;)

E's putting some Angus bacon/cheddar burgers on our electric grill soon. (AND our nosy neighbor still has a large grill that he pulls out occasionally, but pulls it out of his garage towards where cars are parked). As I've said, he's a moron. He told E early in the year that he's moving out to his brothers house, and it was supposed to be the end of this month. We've noticed that when his garage door is open, there's a lot less stuff in there, so fingers crossed.

Linda, sorry about the outages, but glad you have good neighbors to help.

Elaine - I'd take 70's and drizzly. :) Our A/C is running on OT right now...

Evening, peeps. 8)

Sticky in Vacationland but friend visiting from OH says ME 80s/90s feels better than OH 90s/100s. Supposed to break anyway in another day or two.
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...
