Oysters And Pearls Sunday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning!

No O/P here, but I am making eggs/sausage/toast this morning, and lemon pepper/salad for dinner. :)

E is going to head to the range to practice shooting his Glock, as there's a tournament next weekend.

I'm off to the kitchen. :)

Worked yesterday. Today is laundry and changing bed linens. I'm making old school enchilada casserole for dinner tonight. And back to work tomorrow.

I am pretty sure my bed sheets are some sort of cotton blend??? Whatever it is, I like it—doesn’t pill or move around too much as I toss and turn and wonder when the last time I slept well was…

Oh, and yesterday was washing bed sheets day for me 😁

Did some cleaning and went grocery shopping to help stock the pantry for my son who moved into his own house this weekend. Sure was fun to buy some of the treats he liked when he was younger.💕

I am debating about cutting the grass—it really can go another day or two—maybe I will just nap on the couch instead. Tigers don’t play until this evening, so I have a few hours before trying to see if I can watch on tv. Back to work tomorrow after about 8 weeks off for summer. Dreading it, especially since the Coral Reefers are tomorrow night at Pine Knob.

I really wish I could play hooky and go early to the venue or where other pholks are planning to gather until the gates open. I have been watching stubhub and vivid seats for resale tickets to drop in price…..still lots of good seats unsold so I might upgrade when I get there.
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Sunday is make the bed day in the Johnson household too. It's a team effort... MrsSPH strips the bed and puts the sheets in the wash and I get clean sheets out of the linen closet and make the bed 'cuz the mattress is too heavy for her to put the fitted sheet on. If the timing is right (for me) she'll help with the top sheet and comforter, but it seems like she's usually off doing something else at that point and I do the making by myself. 🤷‍♂️

Happy Sunday all.....

The place where "Lindbergh left Long Island in 1927" is now the Roosevelt Field Mall. At one time it was one of the largest malls in the country, I don't know if it still is. When I was a kid, elementary school age, it was an open air mall and there was an ice skating rink on the property. They got rid of the rink when the mall was enclosed.

Larry, does your condo complex have a maintenance guy? If so, he could probably replace a bad circuit breaker for you much cheaper than an electrician who will probably charge a couple hundred bucks just to show up. A 10 amp circuit breaker costs about $10 at Home Depot.
If you haven't done so already, you might try flicking the breaker back and forth on and off a few times and see if it makes any difference...

We don't have a maintenance guy here.

I flipped it back and forth several times Friday and again yesterday. No luck.

Sigh.... Ticket sales at Star Lake for this week's show are abysmal. Prices have been slashed. I can't go, but I had hoped the Reefers will tour next year. My hope is diminished now.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

I'm off cycle with you all... I did my sheets and towels on Friday!
Today was another gorgeous day, albeit a tad warmer, but still dry and I think it just may be 2 2-walk day again! :)

Penny, I gotta ask... lemon/pepper what? Surely not salad!
Dinner here will be chicken fajitas... I'll do the peppers & onions inside while SoulMate takes charge of the chicken breasts on the grill.

Larry - I guess a credit off your internet bill is a moot point if you don't pay one... it would be like a 105% discount - they'd have to pay YOU!
And hopefully you get an electrician for mañana to get back into the bright side of life! ( Is everybody whistling now!)

Ah memories of Roosevelt Field!! :) That was my go-to place to shop on LI... (I loved the back way in through the Nassau Coliseum and NCC property that avoided all the Stewart Ave or Old Country Rd traffic) I think it held that title until the Mall of America in MN went up, but I'm not sure, as we were long gone from LI by that time..

Tacos for us tonight. I found a Jenny O turkey taco mix that is awesome

Out change the sheets day is Wednesday now. I don’t want to do all that laundry stuff on the weekends. We have 3 sets of sheets so bc we’re covered for whatever/whenever.

We spent 2 hrs at the pool today. I didn’t get in since it was cloudy and the water was cooler bc of the rain we’ve had. We met another couple from Pennsylvania 😊.

I made Buffalo Meatballs last night with Jenny O ground turkey, and it's very good, and we have tried the turkey taco mix, and thought it was good, but that one I sill prefer ground beef. :)

I got my new router and it still doesn't work. I called customer service and spoke to a very nice woman who said she was based in southern California. She tried to fix things remotely but she couldn't get the router to connect to the modem. She had to schedule a technician to come and take care of it and the earliest appointment available was Wednesday morning. Oh well.

Came into the office for some late afternoon/early evening work to "get ahead" considering I will probably bug out a bit early tomorrow for the CRB show. Just put a wrap the work so suppose I'll head home & find a T-Shirt to wear. This summer has not been kind to me "conditioning" wise so finding a GOOD fit of a shirt in the words of JB (sort of) May or May not be my problem :pirate:
Check out a little Sunday night baseball as well. Tigers & Phillies have had quite a battle this weekend. Would be great to see Detroit get the series W.

The Tigers have been giving me heartburn and headaches lately. Not sure what happened during the All-Star break, but I hope they figure out their winning ways soon.
