Was just about to open the Café, Linda! Good morning.

Hot one today again. Near 100 for the 3rd day, and will be tomorrow and Friday, too.

No cleaning today, just folding a few loads of laundry.

Have yourself a good Wednesday!! :)

Good morning Linda and Penny.

I'm waiting for the tech from Spectrum to get here, the customer service rep I spoke to the other day said he'd be here at 9:00. I hope I don't have to wait too long, I have to go grocery shopping so I can get my senior citizen discount.

I used to laugh and say I would never be “one of those people” who used a senior discount. I didn’t want to acknowledge I am old.

However, they are enticing and I don’t mind getting those perks :)

Happy Wednesday, all! Off day for me as I ease back into the school year. Paying bills and doing some cleaning. Need to cut grass but the sky is threatening rain. That may end up being a tomorrow after work project.

Have Phun today, all!
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Good morning Larry and Mel! :)

My grocery store doesn't offer senior discounts - and most times I forget to ask for them at other places.

There are quite a few restaurants in MB that offer 10% "locals" discounts :). If not they usually have a Sr discount.

Good Morning Gang!
Today is grandson #2's 18th birthday. We did a Birthday dinner last night for/with him.
He also is starting a new job at a local car dealership today where his older brother works. Sounds like it will be filled with mucho hours, 6 days a week. Previously was doing a "summer" parks & rec job 5 days/40 hours a week so definite step up in "adult" class & commitment from him.

Also Happy CRB day to you Pittsburghers & whoever may be attending. Regardless, I'm sure a number of you may be listening in on Radio Margaritaville.

ENJOY your 6th day of August everybody

I'm at one of our local craft brewers having lunch. I had a pulled pork sandwich, it was delicious. I've had pulled pork at BBQ joints that wasn't this good.

The last time I was here there was a really cute girl behind the bar. She's here again today. I remember because she was wearing a T-shirt with the brewery's logo on the front and CCU's Chanticleer logo on the back. She's wearing the same T-shirt today.

Hi there! Good thing you're retired, Larry, so you can meet the service people at the first available time.

I was in a New York state MacDonalds at 6AM after a 2 hour drive and ordered a small coffee. The clerk looked to be my age. She said the price which was half the menu price. I asked if the price was correct and she told me it was my senior discount. I replied, "I'm not a senior." She said it was for anyone over 50.

I took the deal.

I was 44.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Greeting BNers!

Penny - cool that you are going to see a show at The Sphere! I have several friends who have gone to shows there and gave it rave reviews! ENJOY!

Larry - Welcome back to Cyber-itaville, and it's even lit up now! And, FWIW, I could not read "Hogilicious" with a straight face, so we're even!

As to the senior discount thing, I never remember to ask, but if offered, I would absolutely take it! :)
One of our local markets did 10% off on Tuesdays, but I was still working and Tuesdays were my 10-6 day. SoulMate, however, was retired at that point and for a brief period took over all the grocery shopping; it was great! :D He did get a laugh out ot the cashiers who would never ask for his license for the discount, but WOULD ask if he was buying wine also.
I have now taken that task over again, but for some reason they no longer offer senior discount days, I should ask them why.

I remember we were at a place that had a sign saying "ask us about our senior discount"... on the inside of the exit door.
We didn't see the sign until we were on our way out with our purchases.
And then, being seniors, we'll probably forget to ask the next time we're there...
