Subway Sandwich Saturday @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning!

Here's your piece of useless trivia (unless you are in a trivia contest & this ? comes up :D )

On 8/23/65 The first Subway sandwich shop opens in Bridgeport, CT.

We've got nothing planned today but we are going to read and try to remember the rules to Mexican Train - a domino-type game. We played it for the first time a few weeks ago and really liked it once we caught on so we bought our own set. We will try to play correctly with friends tomorrow evening.

Enjoy your day !

Good morning, Linda and BN! :)

Didn't realize how old Subway was. :o I have always liked their sandwiches, but the do have a lot of competition from several other sandwich shops.

It's finally cooler here today. I just opened windows. All we have is a liquor store run, and steaks on our electric grill for dinner.

Have a great Saturday!! :D

Good afternoon!
Our social group (friends) used to regularly get together and Mexican train was the game of choice. However we did tweak the rules to make it more player friendly . We’d have a blast. Sadly since my wife Carol passed the group doesn’t get together like that anymore.
Enjoy riding those trains Linda & Kevin!

Good day of yard work in the books & now enjoying the Saturday afternoon breeze on the deck. Me like.

Hi there! I eat a half of a sub most weeks, but it's not Subway, which I enjoy.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

And shipped - already sliced - from Nebraska! [smilie=shock.gif]

The only Subway sandwiches I ever ate were comprised of just veggies topped with the sweet onion dressing. I have not had one in years though... since retiring, I mostly make my lunches at home. If we go out, it is NOT to a Subway!

We're on our way to the youngest Daughter's house ( our old house that we built) for a roast chicken dinner. I made Orange Creamsicle Cookies for dessert.
Tomorrow will be laundry day and steak and corn 🌽 on the cob for dinner and I'm going to make homemade baguette's for French onion soup and french bread pizza later in the week.
We're only 1 week away from the start of Ohio' State Football season! Unfortunately I have to work next Saturday, so I'll watch it after work.
Then we have our labor day family get together next Sunday. We're making Shredded chicken sandwiches, deviled eggs and potato salad and there will be cold cuts, bbq pork sandwiches and baked beans...a proper send off to summer 🌞

So today turned out to be SO much cooler, and in the evening hours we opened windows for a really nice breeze.

Steaks on the grill. Baked potatoes that I rubbed in olive oil and covered with Himalayan pink salt and baked. The skins were SO crispy and it added salt to the potatoes. :D And corn on the cob.

Subway must be a East/West thing - in all of the years I've had Subway, the sandwich has NEVER been bad in any way. :-? We have one near the apartments, and often walked to it over the years. We took many of them to Buffett tailgates.

Showers have been taken, dishes cleaned up, and we're headed to the couch to watch some TV. :)
