Hello everyone!
Kevin will be brewing today - a neighbor is coming to "help" (aka watch). I've got no plans as this cold or whatever it is is kicking my butt. It just better be over long before my 10/8 surgery date.
The never ending Cooper's Bluff (our community name) ATV battle continues. Although the community is not quite 5 yrs old people who live in the surrounding areas (and in our community) continue to think the property is still for ATV use. Since there is no longer any open area they simply use our streets (there are only 2 ways into the neighborhood). If cars are parked on both sides there is barely room for a regular size care to navigate - if there are SUVs it makes it more difficult. With the mild bends in 2 of the roads if those sides are blocked....well....we've all been saying - it's bound to happen that something will happen.
Yesterday around 6 pm 2 girls (not residents) who have been reportedly taking corners on 2 wheels, driving into oncoming traffic then jumping the curbs and sidewalks, took a turn on 2 wheels and crashed into a 6' vinyl privacy fence. They've been yelled out by homeowners (which results in "finger giving" and foul language) to slow down. The accident was seen by many who were in the pool, the police were called and the dad came to load up the no longer drivable ATV. ATVs are NOT permitted on public roads (which ours are) and are not required to carry insurance. Seems the general consensus of our HOA Board is we will just foot the bill to repair the fence since "suing" the parent/owner of the ATV will be more costly. Oh the Coopers' Bluff Community FB page is alive & well on this one.....stayed tuned for the next episode of CB v ATV
