Good morning BN. When I get my blood pressure checked, I run that song through my head for a calming effect.

Good Morning Bill & BN’ers to come.
Good call on the calming song.
Jimmy has a number of mellow tunes I thoroughly enjoy.
Big fan of We Learned to be Cool from You.

Enjoy your 12th day of October everyone

Good morning Bill, Ken, and BN! :) We ate at Dukes on Friday, if that counts? ;)

Straggling to wake up this morning, late night of hockey/then unwinding.

Making breakfast whenever E wakes up and is hungry, then tacos for dinner. Just sounded good, and haven't made them in a while.

Enjoy your Sunday! :)

Good morning Bill, Ken, Penny and whoever else may be around.

It's still raining and it's supposed to keep raining most of the day. It'll probably be another sit on the couch and drink coffee day. Maybe I'll watch Casablanca again.

The Hurricanes didn't play very well last night but they won. The game went into overtime and Philadelphia scored with 53 seconds left but one of their players had skated into the goalie and knocked him out of position so the goal was disallowed for goalie interference. The Hurricanes scored about 30 seconds later to win. On the post game show they mentioned that one of their players has a two game goal scoring streak. They've only played two games. Now they go on a 2 week, 6 game road trip out west - the 3 California teams, Vegas, Colorado and Dallas.

AV's lost 5-4 in a shootout last night. But DU won, so it's a wash. :P

Where I grew up on the northern beaches of Sydney there is an oddly named surf beach "Freshwater".

It was here that Duke Kahanamoku first demonstrated surfing in Oz. There is a statue on the headland and one of his surfboards in the surf life saving club.

The last image is one I took of the "surfboard" I used to ride out of Freshwater...

Hello!

I slept until 9:40! Never even woke up in pain so maybe I’m healed 🤪. Went to neighbors for lunch. Homemade minestrone soup and garlic bread. Great rainy day for soup. Our pond has overflowed its banks but we got lots of feet through the common area to rise before it even hits our back yard.

More rain is still expected.

Wow! I wonder how much that board weighs. I spent a night visiting with a rich bar owner in Maine who was building a second home in Oz because of the surfing. His wife spent much of her pregnacies and birthing there so the kids would have dual citizenship

It's a solid piece of "sugar pine" so wasn't the lightest board ever made...

Edit:
It turns out that it was 78lbs. (Found in a contemporary news account).
