had a great 10 hr sleep and woke to sunshine.

we're heading to the nursery where we bought our palm and crepe myrtle. the myrtle has some weird thing going on the bark and the leaves don't look quite right to us. we'll take some pics so they can give us some guidance.

other than that we've got nothing going on.

we got an HOA notice for a "meet the candidates" session. last yr 14 people were on the ballot for the new 5 member board. this yr there are 3 open slots and 3 people are on the ballot; 2 returning & 1 new. Funny how that works. everyone wants to complain but...

Just got back from the dentist, the permanent crown is in place. I can chew on both sides of my mouth now. He told me to wait about 30 minutes to let the cement dry before I have anything to eat.

There was a car in the parking lot with the license plate SUBPAR. I wonder if the owner is a good golfer or a bad person.

I'm having lunch at Mellow Mushroom. I was looking at the tap handles trying to decide which beer I wanted and one of them was The Dukester. I asked the bartender what it was and she said "I don't know, I'm not a beer drinker." You're a bartender, you should know what your bar is selling. They have another beer called Koko Buni, it's a porter. I told her I'd have that and she looked like she thought I was making up the name, I had to point it out to her. This will not be a high tip day

That's not what you'd call a great bartender.... And I looked it up:

One location lists it as an American Brown Ale (5.8% ABV).
Another lists it as an American Golden Ale (4.2% ABV).

Hi there! We had the Sauce Boss play and cook gumbo at Cabin Fever. I heard 2 songs and went to my room, he was that bad. I came back for gumbo. It was nothing special.

I'm trying a cheap, rustic frame for my paintings. I brag that I can do great things in wood as long as I don't have to measure. I screwed up 3 times and need more wood.

I just got an email from the Carolina Opry Theater about an upcoming concert, The Marshall Tucker Band is going to be there. In July, 2026. I think I'll wait before I make a decision.

And I'm off to get a haircut. Almost forgot I had one scheduled for today!!

Yes, I did!
Unfortunately, he was booked solid that day, but I was able to get in this Saturday (10/18) instead. The salon is only open Wed->Sat so this was the closest day.
