Good Morning!
Weather in MB is sunny with a slight breeze and currently 64. Im going to lunch with some neighbor ladies to celebrate a birthday. We're heading to a seafood place in Pawley's Island (abt 20 mins away) - another place I've never been.
Today in 1951 the TV show I Love Lucy debuted on CBS. National I Love Lucy Day, a celebration of the timeless television classic that forever changed the landscape of comedy. Today, we honor the groundbreaking show I Love Lucy and the brilliant quartet who brought it to life: Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley.
On October 15, 1951, I Love Lucy burst onto the American television scene and immediately began making history. In a revolutionary move, it became the first scripted program to be filmed in front of a live studio audience. To make this happen, the studio famously knocked a hole through a concrete wall, building theater-style seating to welcome fans to see the magic happen in person—for free! This innovative format and the show's undeniable charm led to five Emmy Awards and countless nominations.

Good morning, Linda. Lucy was born in Jamestown, NY and is buried there. It's an hour away, but I never have made it to a museum based on her life.

Good Morning Linda & Bill.
Today may be a celebration of Lucille Ball & the cast of characters from that show, but I always had an affection for THIS LUCY!!

Good morning Linda, Bill, and Ken!
Busy this morning doing a little packing of stuff to take to my sister's house on Friday, where we'll be staying for a week fur niece sitting.

I don't have to pack much, as I'll be home with them each day, and maybe one day to do the grocery shopping of things they don't have in their fridge/pantry that I'll be cooking with.
Sunny and upper 70's today, just beautiful outside. Chilly morning, but will open windows soon.

One of my favorite shows. Reminds me when I worked at WNEW TV NY in mid 80s. Lucy played on 16 mm film and we played it from 9 am to 10am weekday mornings. Now you can watch it anytime since its saturated over the free TV streaming channels. I prefer the DVD which kept the Philip Morris sponsor. Also orginal animated opening. The heart opener came during reruns. Plus DVD has radio episodes of "My Favorite Wife" with Lucy.
Coincidentally I am reading a biography on Desi Arnez.

It's pretty good. Only about 320 pages. Most of the stuff has been covered before. His drinking, womanizing.

Hi there! We took our weekly shopping trip to Erie. I bought cheap wood for cheap painting frames since I screwed up the other attempts. I bought more canvasses too. A recovering alcoholic who works at a halfway house spoke at our church. He is a fisherman and would like a painting of his biggest trout. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff.

Good evening peoples.
The Hurricanes had a game last night but it was in San Jose and didn't start until 10:00 eastern time. I DVD'd it and watched it this afternoon. They used a 27 year old goalie who had never played a game in the NHL before. They won 5-1. But San Jose has had either the worst or the second worst record in the league the last 2 years and they had 3 players under 20 years old in the lineup last night so I don't know how much of an accomplishment it is to beat them.

That's unusual for someone to win their first game.

So, once again I'm packed for a week away. At least I didn't have to pack as much as I did when we went to Galveston.
I decided to make a fried egg on a bagel. As I was cooking it, a spider went walking across the stove near the burner. I had pepper in my hand, so I sprinkled some on it.. And it crawled under the toaster. I got my handheld vacuum, and couldn't find the stupid thing. I moved the toaster and still nothing. Then I moved my olive oil dispenser and it was dead behind it. I'm just glad I found it.

It will turn out, Penny. In a previous life, I carved trout and even sold some. The biggest hurdle is the photo of the fish I have to work with. It is not good.

Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's Desilu Studios were a remarkable organisation.
Amongst many stand outs they were the launching pad for Star Trek.
