Today is a day with nothing on our schedule. So, we will head to Walmart & Ollies for a few things. It's also a day to be inside -- cloudy, windy, dark, and dreary.
What's everyone have going on ??

Good morning Linda and BN!!
Today I'm going to cook two meals (Jambalaya and Spaghetti w/meat sauce) so I don't have to fuss with it since I'm having my first Cataract surgery tomorrow, and the 2nd one next Wednesday. I've also got some laundry I did yesterday that needs folding today. Exciting, huh??
It's currently 28 degrees and E said there was frost on the windows - that after having thunder/rain/hail yesterday around 5:00pm.
That's it for now for here.

Good morning Linda and Penny.
I'm trying to make it to Nov. 1 before I switch from shorts to jeans but I may regret that if I go outside today. The temperature is 56 and the high is only supposed to be 59.
It will be a good hockey viewing night. All 32 teams are playing tonight and there are 3 games being televised nationally (I forget if they're on ESPN or TNT, I can check later) and the Hurricanes are on the local cable sports network. I think I'll start with the Hurricanes game, they're playing Vegas, the team I root for in the Western Conference.

Other than raking leaves, not much going on here. It's supposed to start raining this afternoon with another possible "atmospheric river" headed this way, possiblyhitting on Friday. Bad news for the Trick or Treaters....

Weren't those leaves supposed to be donated to the neighbors house, Mr. SPH??
Tho I hope you don't lose power again..
We haven't had Trick-Or-Treaters for more than 10 years. We live at the far end of the apartment complex, that no one ventures down this way.

No walk in the park today. I went downstairs to get my mail and it's raining, windy and cold.

Funny you should mention Ollies. Oliver "Ollie" Rosenberg used to live in a house 6 doors up from where we now live.
The current owner really let the place go to crap. The Democratic Club mentioned in the video was about 2 miles south
of us and was burned down by one of our daughter's classmates.

Those were last week's leaves.... We have a bunch of different trees in our yard, and they all seem to be on different schedules. I'll be raking leaves for the next 4 or 5 weeks. Plus, we have a neighbor up the street from us who has a huge beech tree in her yard, but evidently doesn't own a rake.
In addition to our 90 gallon food/yard waste bin, we are allowed up to 10 extra yard-waste bags every week at no extra charge during the month of November (usually $7.25 each). I usually put out at least 4 or 5 bags weekly and have done 10 a couple of times.

So I finished the few meals for E of jambalaya, and spaghetti with meat sauce, for the next week or so, then I'll freeze the other half.

Leaves? I hate them, but only on rare occasions when my river is full of fresh ones. They can plug off my outboard jet engine. I have 2 large white pines in my yard and I sometimes rake a little, but most of the time, I don't bother.
The food looks good, Penny!

We live on a 1 &1/2 acre piece of property of which the back third is still woods, plus woods down the side property lines, and several big oaks on our front lawn... so YES... we get TONS of leaves. We used to use our lawn tractor - with the' grass bagging attachment - to gather them and put them out for pick-up in those huge paper bags on the one day of fall yard waste collection (sometimes as many as 40! ) and then take subsequent bags of ones that fell later to the dump - 9 at a time is what fit in my truck. But now that we have a gardener, he has a powerful enough blower to re-deposit them back to the woods where they belong, and we just watch!

We're leaveless here.. Most of the trees that surround us are pine trees, and there's a landscape company that either blows them into a field off the property, or mows over them to grind them up.
