Good morning BN. A lot of us celebrated the best part of this night dressing up for concerts and sharing trick or treats like rigged game boards, water guns, food and drinks.

Good morning Bill and BN!
Not a lot going on here. Another pick up of E's car to fix a sensor. I'm just doing some laundry and trying to rest my eyes.
Probably no knocks at our door, as usual. But I got candy anyway..

Good morning Bill and Penny.
I'm looking to extend my streak of no trick or treaters to 13 years. I stopped buying candy after the first 2 years of no knocks on my door.
I have to go downstairs and put the new registration sticker on my license plate, the old one expires today. I wonder if I can handle the excitement.

Our local township postponed trick-or-treat 'til tomorrow from 4 to 6 pm because or rain.
Problem was. they jumped the gun. Rain had stopped by early afternoon and trick-or-treat would
have been no problem. Oh well.

Our town tried to do that once... because the north end had suffered a large power outage...
But because it did not affect our end, our neighborhood kids came around on the 31st anyway.
We did have enough candy left for the few "out-of-neighborhood" kids who showed up the following night.

Harrrummppphhhhh. Halloween is a vexed thing here in Oz.
It is truly something that only exists here because of reruns of old American kid's shows on TV.
To be honest, I am not a fan.

You would have been a true believer if in your misspent youth, you saw a hot woman at a costume party in a skin tight cat suit. ( It worked for me.)

Oh I am a Batman true believer (well in 1960's version, the later ones - not so much... From Julie Newmar to Eartha Kitt, what's not to like?).

Halloween has been a mostly fun holiday for the kids since the 60's for me. I loved going house to house to say, "Trick-Or-Treat"!!

Lots of candy, which my mother portioned out, and mostly lasted until Easter.

Over the years, costumes have evolved, and so many people (kids and adults) have become so creative/fun/funny!

We'll just keep the celebration in the USA, Rabz.

Oh Larry - our two hockey teams went head to head, and I'm happy to report the Avalanche won this one.

Big government strikes again
I recall back in my days sometimes municipalities would bump the trick or treat a day for whatever reason, which indeed led to some double dipping by “roadtripping” to the other area

Late arrival at the cafe today. We didn’t give out candy this year and probably won’t again. We walked around and saw some kids but not nearly what we had last year.
We stopped to visit friends and I got a Jell-O shot, a cup of wine and a shot of RumChata/fireball. Yummmm.
Kevin opted for candy.

I see the Avalanche signed Marty Necas to a contract extension. He was a really good player for the Hurricanes and he's one of the fastest skaters in the league but sometimes playing defense was a foreign concept to him. The Hurricanes are a defense first team and the word around here was he wasn't going to sign a long term extension to stay with them so they traded him last year. I wish they had kept the other guy they included in that trade, Jack Drury. He's never going to score a lot of goals but he's a really good defensive player, he kills penalties and he was one of their best faceoff men.

You just need to add you own flair to it. I like to set up my tiki bar and pass out candy to the kids and shots for the adults.

I moved last year. My old neighborhood was maybe a handful of kids. This one? Was INSANE last year. Slower this year, but I counted, and we had 114 kids come to the door. I also put out a box of free food for struggling families. People took about 2/3 of it - pasta, tuna, etc. It's not much, but it's something.
