Good morning Ken.

It's supposed to be close to 80 degrees today, it's 71 already. But tomorrow it's going to be about 20 degrees cooler and tomorrow's overnight low might be near freezing. Maybe I'll get out and enjoy what may be our last 70 degree day for awhile.

Good morning Ken and Larry!

Not my favorite day today, as I lost Dad 9 years ago. Sigh.

We also have an issue with the car, so E is at a Ford shop (where our nephew works) to see what can be fixed. Breakfast is going to be ready in 45 minutes. :(

2 more dishes to cook today for tomorrow, then dinner tonight. I'm enjoying the cooking, but it's exhausting too. :)

See you all later!!

I wonder if there's a dead critter nearby? When I was sitting at my dining room table having breakfast this morning, there was a vulture circling around the building. I just went downstairs to get my mail and when I was walking back to the building I looked up, there were 2 vultures circling.

We got home from our little sunbreak in HI last night. We usually fly non-stop KOA-SEA on Alaska Air, but last night flew KOA-HNL-SEA on Hawaiian Air (to save a few $$) and were once again reminded why nonstops are mo bettah.
First, our connecting flight was an hour late and then, when we got to baggage claim in SEA, I looked at the AirTag app on my phone and saw that our two checked suitcases and my golf clubs were still in Honolulu. Even with an extra hour, the bags didn't get on the plane! I told the gate agent about them and he said that the AirTags were probably wrong and we had to wait until all bags were off the plane before he would do anything.
The bags were supposed to come out on baggage carousel 8 and then they said that some were on carousel 2. Customer Service was near carousel 13 and so I spent the hour walking from 8 to 2 to 13 to 8 to 2 to 13 to.... The agent finally admitted that yeah, our bags probably didn't make it.
We didn't get home until midnight. Bagless.
The bags must have come on the red-eye, they were delivered to our front door at 9:30 this morning.

Here's a few pics from paradise:

Mr. SPH - I hear you about preferring direct flights...
but better to have bags delivered late on the return trip at your house than the "outbound" one stuck in a hotel waiting for them!
And I have to say the view captured by those gorgeous photos makes a bit of inconvenience worthwhile!

And since I never got in here yesterday...
SMLCHNG wrote: November 25, 2025 10:16 pm Well, Linda. I'm happy to hear about the kidney stones. I have now formed gout in my big toe in my left foot. Hurts like a dickens. :-?

E's car made an odd noise on Sunday, and it's sounding worse. So he's taking the car to his Nephew's Ford shop to see if it can be fixed before our drive home on Saturday. \
Linda- that is good news! I also am sending some good thoughts down SC way that your osteo treatment can finally get scheduled soon.

Penny - OUCH! I had a bout of gout in my own left big toe a few years ago, so I know how bad that can huret!! Even the sheet touching it at night was painful!!

And I hope E's car is an easy fix! Car trouble is bad enough, but away from home is much worse, but at least he has a local he can trust!

Wow! That is PLANE crazy what Mel went through. The pictures are wonderful.

We watch a lot of sitcoms, but due to family drama and styress I couldn't watch them.

I worked in our park putting up cut outs for kids to put their faces in scenes, then got most of our stuff up. I finished at dusk as the snow started. Twenty miles NW of us could get 19 inches through Saturday.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Amen to that! That's happened to MrsSPH twice, once in Kona and once in Rome. Last night they did give us each a $100 credit for use on a future flight.

Are you (did you) taking anything? I've had a few bouts over the years and each time Colchicine has cleared it right up...

I was supposed to work a half day today, but I worked yesterday in exchange for today off, since we had an appointment with the vet to let our big girl Charley cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge 🌉. She went downhill very fast and she was very weak in her back end. This morning Bryan had to lift her up after she squatted to go potty and then he had to lift her back legs up the stairs. We're really sad but we know we did the right thing for her.
We're putting up our tree tomorrow and we are celebrating thanksgiving on Sunday. Happy Thanksgiving Eve, everyone.

First of all, Tammy I'm so sorry to hear about Charley.  I've enjoyed your stories about her over the years.

Mr. SPH - sorry about the luggage/flight stuff.. Glad everything turned out in the end. But as far as Colchicine goes? I've never heard of it, but probably this is my first bout with gout. And it's JUST my big toe. However your pictures are beautiful!!! :D

Thank you, Elaine!! You are so right! (More blood work being done next week).

Larry, we have some creepy criminals in the area, can you send those vultures in? :)

Sooooo, the horrible sound coming from E's car? Missing and un-tight lug nuts. It was from his last oil change/tire rotation in Colorado. I am LIVID. What if the tires had come off while we were going 80mph down the highway. So they were replaced/tightened, test drove, and there was no charge (E's nephew works at the Ford dealership).

Sooooo, this has been my cooking adventure with E's family: Yesterday I made a corn/cheese casserole, a cinnamon/pineapple casserole, a breakfast casserole for today, and a chicken/Rotel/cheese casserole for last night's dinner. Today I made a cranberry casserole and sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving, and a ham/cheese/potato casserole for tonight's dinner. Dressing/stuffing for tomorrow, Friday I'm making biscuits and gravy for breakfast and lasagna for dinner. Can you tell that I like casseroles??😋
