Hello FRIDAY @ the MSC

Good Morning 1

I'm off to a craft class at a local art store. Other than that we have nothing going on. I ordered 2 puzzle mats from Amazon. We've never really been puzzle people (although our daughter's family is) but the library has free puzzles and I thought it might be something I could try. Only problem is I would have to use the dining room table - hence the puzzle mat. Hoping 1 will show up before the "storm" gets here so I have something to do other than reading and watching TV.

Enjoy your day and keep SAFE & WARM !

Good morning, Linda. Anne loves puzzles, but because of the cat, she does them online.

Good morning Linda and Bill!

SSDD, again today. ;)

Going to Dukes tonight for the first time in 2 months.. It's not going to be easy. But going with the HR co-worker of E's who lives in this apartment complex, and has helped me a LOT with all of his stuff.

Sunny and near 50 today.. Sorry kids.

Good morning.

I was watching the Hurricanes game last night and I had just about given up. They were playing terrible and were losing 4-2 with 2 minutes left in the game. Then they scored 3 goals in a minute and a half and won. Their rookie goalie set another record, fastest goalie to 20 wins at the start of his career. He's only played 24 games.

We're headed soon for the aeroporto (SEA) to fly down to the Bay Area (SJC) to celebrate MrsSPH's mother's 98th b'day. A week ago she was in the ER with the flu and a UTI, and we weren't sure she was going to make it, but she's a tough old lady. Her mother died a week short of 99, and physically there's nothing that says she won't make it there too. It's a good thing we're going this week, next week is Superbowl Sunday and airfares and hotel rates are absolutely ridiculous.

Back from my craft activity -- everyone's end result looked good - amazing to see how one picture can be so different :).

I got 2 500-piece puzzles from the library to see what I can do if we get "snowed in". Can't remember when I did one last.

We had our indoor dryer vent & roof top "exit vent" checked today. Seems there are many many many (see what I did there) houses that have improperly installed roof vents - ours is one of them. It cost us $50 bucks and now we can join other homeowners in approaching the builder to fix the issue before someone ends up with a roof fire. Sometimes Homeownership ain't all it's cracked up to be. :o

Enjoy the remainder of your final Friday of January (can you believe it????)

Well that roof thing doesn't sound good, Linda. :(

And I don't have room to do a puzzle, but I do when I'm at my sister's house. She has a separate table made just for puzzles. I'll be dog sitting for 10 days starting on February 16th.

So, got good news earlier. The folks in the office have been looking for an apartment for me, with a garage and no stairs. One became available last night, but they're not moving until April, so I can move all the things I'm moving on April 18th, then what's left behind can be picked up by "Habitat for Humanity". The young man helping me came over a few minutes later to "inspect" our apartment and it passed. They also dropped the "Transfer Fee" of $500 for me, just because I've lived here for 15+ years. It's finally good to have a plan.

Hiya kids!!!

So thankful it is finally FriYaY and work is done for a few days. Longest week ever. Already in jammies and waiting for pizza delivery.

Linda, sorry you still aren’t feeling but up to sniff, but glad you got out for a bit. I agree with Ann and Bill—puzzles and cats don’t mix. The cats never want to put the puzzle together—just take one or two pieces to hold on to for later.

Penny, excited you are getting out and found a new place that better fits you. Enjoy Dukes!

Mr SPH, wowza on the resiliency! Safe travels and celebrate that lady!!! 💕🎂💕

We had a break-in! Nothing was stolen, but I found they left 4 tickets to MELANIA.

She was taken by ambulance to the ER, where she remained for 3 days. At one point they had 30 patients waiting for a hospital bed. She was in the hospital for another 3 days before she was well enough to go home. It didn’t look good. She had something similar last summer and the whole family gathered to see her one last time and then the doctors and the antibiotics did their job and she was just fine again.

So, I went to Dukes for the first time in 2 months with the HR gal (Danielle) from Ron's work. I got hugs and tears from the staff. And a card. And my meal for free. On behalf of Trinidad, in honor of Ron's 20 years, I got a Tiffany "bean" necklace. Ron's company was one of the largest bean producers and packaging companies in the country. 🥲❤️ Danielle and I shared laughs and tears, and it was good to get out again. She's pretty wonderful, and has been a lot of help with Ron's work benefits..
