And the results are in: according to his handlers in the Groundhog Club, we’ve got the answer as to whether or not Phil saw his shadow.
Here it is: Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. That means, according to tradition, we are in for six more weeks of winter!
Crowds gathered in the early morning cold in Punxsutawney to hear the results as Phil’s prediction was made around 7:30 a.m.
Dammit!

Good morning. We set a record low for February 2, it was 20 degrees earlier this morning. Lumberton, NC, across the state line near I-95, also set a record low at 3 degrees with a wind chill of -6. Well, it is "up north".

Good morning/afternoon all.
Gave a vial of blood this morning, and if #'s are good, I won't have to give a pint next week.
Got a call from the Dept of Veterans affairs. E can't be buried at Ft. Logan, as we went from Boot Camp to the Marine Reserves, and wasn't "active duty".. So, I have to pick up his urn later this week, and figure out where I want to spread his ashes, and still have his Celebration of Life at the brewery.
Some more cleaning today, but can't take it to the dumpster yet, as they're pretty full.
It's 31 degrees f outside and it feels so nice. It's the warmest we've had in about 2 weeks.
Stuffed pork chops are in the oven.

Most of the snow is gone, a little still on lawns and a few rough spots on the roads but no problem driving. The temperature even made it above 40 degrees today but the overnight low is supposed to be in the teens.
The Hurricanes played the L.A. Kings yesterday. The Kings have a player named Anze Kopitar. This is his 20th year in the NHL, all with the Kings. Before the season started back in October he announced he was retiring at the end of the year. Yesterday was the last time the Hurricanes play the Kings this season. At the end of the game the whole team came off the bench and lined up to shake hands with Kopitar, then as he left the ice the Hurricanes fans gave him a standing ovation.

Regular bread stuffing like the kind you put in a Thanksgiving turkey.

Sorry to read of your husband's burial issues, Penny. One more hurdle you must overcome.
I must be at the hospital by 5AM for surgery prep tomorrow. I was 5 the last time I stayed in a hospital.

Positive thoughts for tomorrow, Bill...
Sports trivia from the Upper LH Corrner: University of Washington junior Hana Moll cleared 16 feet in the pole vault at a track and field meet on Saturday, becoming only the second woman in NCAA indoor history to reach the mark. The only other woman to ever do it is her twin sister Amanda.

Sigh.
Fingers crossed for good numbers!

I agree, but that's the VA rules. I'll probably find an area near Red Rocks to spread his ashes (we saw Jimmy, ZBB, Alan Jackson) and others there, where it's not near public areas.
