Good morning BN. It's been a long time since I have seen salty anything or heard the song that is the title of his book.

It is warm and sunny in the norwoods. No plans yet, but there will be some soon. Enjoy your dayPHolks.

Good Morning Bill and everyone else who stops by:

Tomorrow is March -- it's amazing how the older you get the faster the days seem to go by.

Off to an indoor/outdoor Vendor's Market with 2 friends. After that we have nothing scheduled. But I think we'll head to Lowes at some point to check out downspout extenders since a section of the flowerbed floods now due to the higher curbing. I know -- such excitement :).

Enjoy your day wherever you are and whatever you do (even if it's nothing horribly exciting).

Hello Bill, Linda, and BN!

Love the title. My dad loves this song and tries to play some of it on his guitar. Can't believe March and Spring are on our doorsteps already! Can't wait for the warm weather to hit us. The neighbor's cat came to visit this morning...he curled up on our mat outside. Snow is still piled up three feet but it's luckily melting!

Have a great Saturday, everyone :D :D :D Hopefully my favorite comedy show (which I have missed for the past three weeks) will not be preempted.

Good morning Bill and Linda.

I'm about to leave for our annual HOA meeting. I have to come right home when it's over, my Beer Of The Month Club delivery is scheduled for this afternoon and I have to be here to sign for it.

The Vegas Golden Knights were on TV again last night. The 5 Olympians who didn't play Wednesday night all played last night, I guess they just wanted to give them a little extra rest after all the travel. They played in Los Angeles Wednesday, Milan to L.A. is a pretty long trip.

Good morning Bill, Linda, Jerry, and Larry! :)

Back home, and I slept for 9 hours. I was going to get Cameron's help today to lug the wagon with stuff to the dumpster.. But I'm sore from trying to lift my suitcase into my car yesterday, and several tote bags. And he's taking care of Sarah who's feeling kinda yucky since yesterday. So we'll tackle things tomorrow, hopefully.

So I'll putter around without doing too much.

Hope you all have a good Saturday! :)

I only averaged about 6.5 hours at work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We were strangely slow so I was able to leave when I started to get tired. Recovery and healing is still going very well. I have the weekend off then back at it next week. I'm making a homemade pizza 🍕 for dinner tonight ☺️
Happy Saturday!

As far as I can tell, Jimmy only sang this song live twice, on the Today Show (while hyping his book) on 11/30/04 and then at a small show at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in New Orleans on 12/08/04.

The man did have a way with words:
I was listening for answers
That i could not really hear
When the words of a wise old Indian
Put a conch shell to my ear
And i took off for the ocean
I was searching for the coast
Painting Pictures of my vision
With the words from Grandma ghost
Hiding from the dragons
Riding for the sea
Singing ballads from my Childhood
A Pirate's life for me
Survivor's seem to function best
When peril is at hand
Where the songs of the ocean
Meets A Salty Piece of land

I was force-fed my religion
But i somehow saved my smile
Tapped into my instincts
As i headed for exile
Cleopatra did not on a barge
But a schooner was her home
She had centuries of stories
And there's wisdom in her bones
She was on a sacred mission
And she told me of a place
Where a man could hide forever
And never loose his faith
So i saddled up my seahorse
With a fly-rod in my hand
I was not looking for salvation
Just A Salty Piece of Land

Some days Kayo Loco shines
Like the stars up in the sky
And the seabirds they do touch and go's
While the world just Tango's by
But there are times when she is hidden
Beneath the wild and crashing ways
And the patron saint of lightning
Keeps the sailors from their graves
Some say it is a blinding sword
Pointing out into the sea
While others say her guiding light
Leads toward eternity
Still i sit here in contemplation
And i just don't understand
This mysterious attraction
Of this Salty Piece of Land

Still i search the constellations
And the tiny grains of sand
Where the song of the ocean
Meets A Salty Piece of Land

There was a police officer at the HOA meeting, the guy was huge. Not 350 pounds huge like an NFL lineman, but he must have been about 6'6" or 6'7". Very intimidating looking guy. At the end of the meeting I went over and thanked him for what he does, it's not the easiest job.

Hi there! A harbinger of spring here, the buzzards are back! Yes, they are ugly with a face that makes open blister look good, but they are beautiful in flight.

It was great the lyrics are with the song, Mel. I have the song on one of the cds that the book is on.

I sort of saw the Today Show performance. He performed in the studio but they showed it on the TV monitors above the studio windows and I was in Rockefeller Plaza with all the tourists. After the performance Jimmy came out to the Plaza. I had the book with me, held it up with a sharpie in my other hand and called out to him to try to get him to sign my book. He walked in the other direction.

I'm glad you did that. I do it as often as I'm able.

Maybe at the State of the Union the other evening?

Do you always have an officer present? We’ve not had that. Yet.

No, but a few years ago we had some residents who were rather disagreeable so we had an officer at some meetings for "crowd control". This officer was just there as a representative of the police department. We've had some minor problems on the property, mostly because people leave their cars unlocked and things have been stolen from the cars.

Just a quick fly-by this evening...

It hit 50° today, so we were able to get the driveway almost back to the full width. :)
Sometimes it's the little things that make me smile! Lord knows those are rare these day... :-?

Penny - I saw the "Welcome Home" video on FB! Your "nieces" were SO excited!1 It was very cute!

Larry - glad to know those 5 players are healthy! I think your assessment of an extra day's rest was spot-on.

Mr SPH - my thanks for your video. That song does not get the RM airplay it deserves!

Rabbitz - I agree with the dog... but he put it much nicer than what came out of my mouth this morning... [smilie=grrrrrr.gif]

They started getting sad faced and a little whiny sounds, and I kept telling them they'll be very happy in just a few hours. :D I asked my sister to take a video when they got home. It made ME smile big. :D

Thanks Penny, Bryan's back issue is much, much better and the chiropractor thinks his chronic neck pain is directly associated with the lower back issue and is hopeful that he can help with that issue too!
