Saturday @ the MSC
Good Morning Everyone!
Look to be a nice day here in Myrtle Beach. Kevin & friend Scott are brewing a batch of beer this morning (while watching - for the umpteenth time - Breaking Bad). I'm heading out to the flower beds again to get a few perennials planted before it gets too hot out there.
We will probably head to Vision Works after the beer is "cooked" to get our new glasses.
Might do a little prep for the neighbor Easter Dinner for 10 that we are hosting tomorrow evening.
Enjoy your day whatever you've got going on.

Good morning, Linda. Beer, beach and glasses sounds like a nice day. I slept in bed for the second time since surgery, but not well enough. I already had a nap.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Linda, Bill, and Tammy!
Safe travels, Tammy!
Hope the glasses turn out well, Linda!
And glad you got to sleep in your bed, Bill! Hopefully the sleep keeps getting better.
I'm going to pack up cleaning products today, and just leave out things I may be using when I have to clean up this place just a bit. (don't have to go overboard, since they'll be ripping out ALL of the flooring, kitchen and bathroom counters, and cabinets). The only thing I was told to make sure are clean are the fridge and oven. Oven is self cleaning, and I may do that today, since it's a bit chilly outside.
Rockies home opener was a 10-0 loss to the Phillies...

Well, the oven is now clean and Cameron's old bathroom is empty and cleaned.. Again, I don't have to clean it like crazy, cause they're just going to make a mess when they remodel it.

Happy Easter Saturday, BN!
Not much is going on here. Luckily, we went out for a walk around noon, when it was nice and sunny! The afternoon has gotten progressively cooler and very damp... a foreshadowing of tomorrow's upcoming rain.
Bill - sorry you are still in pain, but glad you have progressed to the bed instead of the recliner, that is progress.
Linda - Easter dinner for 10?! Never a dull moment at the Carolina Cabana, eh?
Tammy - I second the Safe travels! And I probably should know this, but where in NY is your daughter located? Mine is in the Finger Lakes region.
Penny - That empty room has GOT to feel like a big accomplishment!!

Re: Saturday @ the MSC
Well Easter Sunday has dawned cool and bright. Forecast is for increasing cloud and then showers.
I was hoping to celebrate Zombie Jesus Day with some steaks and sausages on the open fire at the back of the block, but the weather may put the stoppers on that.
A question, if I may?
Is it really true that the US doesn't have public holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday?
Here in Oz, the Easter break is a most anticipated break because of the four day weekend and it is a time where the weather is normally cooling off but not quite winter - so the outdoors call long and loud.
You guys should try it

An update on the doggo. I will be driving interstate on Tuesday to pick him up and head home Wednesday. Mrs Rabz is furiously puppy-proofing the Château des Rabbitz and spending a fortune on doggy bibs and bobs.
The folk who rescued him have sent us some videosâthe daughter who actually saved him has already got him walking on a slack lead and almost has him house-trained.

SOME companies in the US give Good Friday as a holiday, but it's not a FEDERAL holiday.Rabbitz wrote: April 4, 2026 5:39 pm Is it really true that the US doesn't have public holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday?

We have both federal and state declared public holidays. The holiday on Easter Monday is a quirk in the legislation, where if a public holiday would fall on a Sunday, then the next working day is declared in lieu of the Sunday (where most people are not working anyway).

Hi Kids!
Penny inspired me so I did some deep cleaning today. A few garbage bags of things are awaiting trash day, and a few more bags will be dropped off at a donation center.
It has poured rain since about 2 am. Lots of standing water all over and some in my basement which happens every time we get a huge downpour. There is a crack in the middle of the basement floor where they repaired the drain way before I moved in. The âfixedâ crack always lets in a bit of water on heavy long rains. I probably should get someone to look at it, but since the basement isnât finished, I just put up with it.
Other than that, not much else is new. Might watch a movie before bed. Kinda sad my kids are old and no longer anticipate the Easter Bunny. This is the first year I havenât bought anything at all for them. I am holding off for half off Peeps on Monday
