Time to Play Scrabble MONDAY @ the MSC

GOOD MORNING !!
Today is National Scrabble Day April 13th recognizes a game played around the world. Originally named Lexiko and then Criss-Cross Words, Alfred Mosher Butts eventually settled on the name Scrabble. The amateur artist and unemployed architect developed the word game in the midst of the depression. Still, it wasn't until 1948, a final name change and a trademark that Butts finally began to produce the game.
We have a "fancy" wooden Scrabble board that sits on a turntable. We used to play for hours during snow storms.....haven't had it out much since we moved

.
Enjoy your day !

Good morning Linda and BN!
Running up to the grocery store this morning to pick up a few things. Also to give the store manager my food order for the Celebration of Life party.
Then back to finish kitchen packing. I have just 3-4 boxes to pack. But some of that are glass items, so break out the bubble wrap again.
I used to play scrabble a lot when I was younger. I always enjoyed it.
Have a good Monday!

Good morning Linda and Penny.
I haven't played Scrabble in years.
The Pelicans first home game of the season is tomorrow. They started the season winning their first 5 games but now they're on a 4 game losing streak. I usually go to the first home game but I think I'll pass on this one.

Hi there! I think I played scrabble. My game was Boggle, though one girlfriend beat me a lot.

So I stopped at the store and got paper/plastic products so I can finish packing EVERYTHING without having to keep out a bowl/plate/spoon, or cup. Then the 2nd manager at the store took my order, and I realized they may not be able to deliver.. ACK!!! She'll call me and let me know. If not, I have to figure out who could pick it up for me (those not going to the ash spreading). I might see if one of my neighbors are going to the C.O.L. party, and if they can pick it up.
Then I stopped by the office to see if I can get the key on Thursday, since my internet and electricity is being turned on, on Friday, and I have to have either me or Cameron there between 8-5. No key Thursday, but the lead maintenance guy just showed up, and he'll be happy to unlock the door at 8:00 am on Friday, and then I can get my keys later in the day. If needed, I can bring a few things over before the official move on Saturday. I also had to ask my rental insurance to change the coverage date to Friday, instead of Saturday.
My head hurts...

Checking in before dinner on a lovely day in SC.
I went to chair yoga and then a local high schools FFA plant sale with 3 of my yoga class friends. The plants were gorgeous and priced very low so SCORE!
The rest of my day, so far, consisted of boxing Easter decor and putting out Spring in its place.
Just finished my 2nd beer in the “cabana” where there’s a great breeze. Soon time to cook dinner.

I loved Scrabble, too! I still have the set from my childhood, but I have not played in years! When our kids were young, we bought a travel version with magnetic tiles that was great for road trips.
Penny - can you cover 2 places on your insurance for a day? It seems like most of your belongings will remain in your current apartment until Saturday, with only some being "delivered" a day earlier to the new digs.

The Pelicans had a meet the team event at the ballpark. I didn't really care about meeting the team but I wanted to see how the ballpark looked, they did a lot of improvements since last season ended. The owner of the team spoke for about 15 minutes then apologized because he meant to be brief "but I can't say hello in less than 5 minutes". The ballpark looked nice, they replaced all the seats, moved the visiting team bullpen from foul territory down the left field line to behind the outfield fence in right center field. The outfield wall is padded from foul line to foul line instead of being covered with advertising. And they built a new video board, that will also be the new scoreboard, in right field. That's good because the old scoreboard was in left center field and it got the afternoon sun, you couldn't read anything on it for the first couple of innings because of the glare. But I'm still not going to tomorrow night's game.

I just talked to Bern about our upcoming Mac show which is in a 400 seat dinner theater that has overpriced and underwhelming food. WE will eat at a nice Italian joint minutes away before the show

Wow, Larry... That's a LOT of improvements!! Sounds like they're all good things? I'm guessing that's why the parking fee went up?

Just got notice that July 31 is "Margaritaville Night" at the Mariners vs. Twins game.
The Mariners beat the Astros today to complete a four game sweep.

That doesn't happen very often.
I'm sure MsMolly ain't too happy with her 'stros.....

The Tigers’ Margaritaville night is June 5th. Already have my ticket
Warm, almost hot, day here today. Lots of neighbors out walking dogs and kids. Fun to have windows open and hear laughter and playing. Birds have been singing up a storm, too. Always reminds me of growing up when my dad would quiz me on what bird was singing or tweeting. Between that and 1940’s swing band songs where I might win “a million dollars” if I could name that tune.
Really missing the good ole days lately—just another sign I’m growing older but not up I guess.

Welp, I'm tired and not much to eat today, so I'm going to head to the couch to watch brainless TV. (I was pleased when I put on a pair jeans today, and they were a size smaller).
I've actually lost close to 30 lbs now
And it really was needed, so it's okay.
