Had stupid dreams during the night, and woke up at 6:00 am and couldn't fall back asleep.
Pretty sore today from moving some furniture and organizing pictures. I'll take it easy today.
Might hang a few things that don't require a lot of bending over..
Have a good Sunday!!

Good morning Penny.
It might make it to 80 degrees today. There's rain in the forecast for later this week, I hope they're right about that.

OMGEEEE. it's hot outside. I made the mistake of starting to transplant a pot of flowers. The folks that owned the AirBNB in Roanoke where we stayed 5x in our travels from PA to SC sold their home and moved to the lower part of NC. They visited us the other day and she brought me a huge pot of flowers. I put them in a large planter that I had but I spray painted it navy blue first. By the time I got everything around the back of the house the temp was up to the low 90's. But, I kept going....OMGEEEE. That was stupid. But, it's done now.
Next chapter on the "rats" from across the street. One of the small ones (maybe 3) got out this morning. We were having coffee in the porch when he came down our side yard and continued towards the pond. He strolled along and eventually went about 1/2 way around and then decided to go down the bank towards the water. Thankfully, the goose family (with their 3 remaining babies) started going towards him and he started to come back towards our yard. This went on for about 10 minutes and I finally called 911. They were "sending an officer now" and asked me to keep them updated. A woman who is somewhat of a friend to the "mom" came out and tried to get the boy back which she was using her phone (we assumed to call the mom). I called 911 again and said it looked like someone was taking him home. A few minutes later - just as that was happening a cruiser pulled up one house away from the boys home and watched the neighbor carry him home. She sent inside with the boy and the officer drove away. Never came back........WTHECK?????? In total he was outside alone for almost 15 min.
Tomorrow I'll call Child Services AGAIN.

Sounds like another fun 'adventure' with the neighbors, Linda.

Hey all, lots of warm weather on the way here too!!
Linda - Yikes, that kid needs to be "put on a leash."
While we're on wildlife, a pair of ducks have been visiting my pool . I think they nest near a pond not too far from my house. I've also been trying to call out to crows (very smart avians!). At the compost pile, I set aside some grapes just for them. Today, the whole flock saw me out, circled around, and swooped in after I left.

I went for a walk around the neighborhood. There was a swan swimming in one of the ponds with 6 cygnets. I heard some birds chirping their little booties off but I didn't see them, they were hiding in the trees. At least I didn't get dive bombed by any of them.

I learned early in life that swans can be VERY nasty!! My Aunt & Uncle lived on a lake out in Sayville that had swans. I was maybe 6 or 7 and was at the shore with food, when I ran out, they attacked and chased me all the way back to the house. My older brother (12 or13 at the time) thought it was hysterical. He knew exactly what would happen because of his own experience, which, of course, he never told me about!

I love watching the crows! Corvids are very intelligent! We have a lot of catbirds (a related species) around as well. They mimic other birds, and yes, cats! Sometimes they make a sound like a baby crying... which is a bit eerie.
We also have dueling hawks! I've seen both Cooper's and Red Shouldered in our woods, and I can hear both of them on and off throughout the day.
Linda - I am shocked that the police did not investigate further! It is unbelievable that CPS has not acted on this family yet! Those kids are in danger!
Penny - I hope you did take it easy today! You've earned a day of rest!

I love catbirds! I hear them often. They usually swing by my blueberry bush.

Welllll, not exactly..
Going to adjust the ones on the left, cause I like them a little further apart, but tomorrow. I'll give the neighbors a hammering break.
And I hung more things in the living room.
Added 2 more to "our" wall (at the bottom)..

I had a Monet period in college and joked my work looks better the further away you stand.

We miss you, Jesse....
I live on a big round ball
I never do dream I may fall
And even one day if I do
Well, I'll jump off and smile back at you
I don't even know where we are
They'll tell you we're circling a star
Well, I'll take their word, I don't know
But I'm dizzy so it may be so
I'm riding a big round ball
I never do dream I may fall
And even the high must lay low
But when I do fall I'll be glad to go
Yeah, when I do fall I will be glad to go
Yeah, when I do fall I will be glad to go
