Taking a quick run to Home Depot this morning with Cameron.. the a dentist appointment for a cleaning this afternoon.
Still cold/cloudy/breezy today.
Fell asleep on the couch around 7:30, finally got to bed around 10:00, and total hours of sleep, almost 10 hours. Guess I was tired.
Have a good Wednesday!!

Well, dentist just had to reschedule - AGAIN. It'll be next week now. No issues, just a cleaning.
Just found out the the owner of Dukes, our Friday night dinner date, passed away 6 days ago. He was 6 years younger than me. I so wanted to tell E, and dammit. He's not here.

Good morning Penny.
I had an appointment to donate blood at 10:00 but my hemoglobin was low again so I was deferred. I went grocery shopping on the way home. Now I'm trying to decide if I should go to the new brewery and moonshine distillery, today is the grand opening. I can sample some moonshine and get my redneck on.

I went. Construction on this place took over a year but they did a great job, it's a beautiful facility. They do moonshine flights but not beer flights.
I went to the bar and got a beer then went outside and sat in the beer garden. There was a 4 piece bluegrass band playing outside, not very good, but I sat outside sipping my beverage while they played. The bass player said they were hard of hearing but they all read very well so if you write your request on a $50 or $100 bill they can probably play it.
When I finished my beer I went back inside, it was very hot, and decided to do a moonshine flight. For $10 you get 7 moonshines (very tiny cups), a 9 oz. beer (but it was only 6 oz., they split a 12 oz. can for 2 people) and a $10 discount coupon for shopping in the store. One of the moonshines was 128 proof (not white lightning, that's only 100 proof) and the bartender said if it was too strong for you "just do what I told my old girlfriend, close your eyes and swallow". There was a guy about my age at the bar during the tasting and we were talking while we sipped. At the end when the bartender came around to get everyone to pay, the guy paid for mine. I saved $10 and got a $10 coupon so I bought a jar of margarita moonshine before I left. That wasn't one of the flavors in the tasting so I don't know if it's any good yet. I'll wait until tomorrow to try it.

What a PITA on the reschedule... even if it is just a cleaning, I hate when things get "shifted" like that!
Sorry about the Duke's owner... I know you and E spent many a Friday night there... And I bet E knew before you did...

Sounds like a cool place! For once, getting "rejected" at the Blood Bank worked out for the best! SUCH. A. DEAL!

That was a good read, Larry.
I had my third gym workout, got weighed and I was up from last week.
I blame pie.

It actually worked out okay, cause Cameron and I had some errands to run, so I didn't feel rushed.
You have a good point....

We left Rome Fiumicino Airport at 4 pm this afternoon and (thanks to the 9 hour time difference) were in Seattle by 6 pm. Got a few nice pictures of our mountain as we were coming in. As we say in the Upper LH Corner, "the mountain is out"....

Mt. Rainier would only be the fourth tallest mountain in Colorado, who has its "fourteeners" (fourteen mountain peaks over 14,000'), including three that are taller than Mt. Rainier's 14,410' (Mt. Elbert @ 14,440', Mt. Massive at 14,428’, and Mt. Harvard at 14,421’), what's notable is that Rainier rises directly from sea level and Mt. Elbert and the others are all just part of the Rockies and basically start a mile high (in Denver....) and aren't as prominent as "the Mountain". And Rainier is an active volcano....
I'm about a mile high in Denver
Where the rock meets timberline
Where God and trees create the breeze
Tonight I'll call it mine
