Good morning Bill

June 1 means it's the start of hurricane season. Everything I've seen so far says it's going to be a below average season, but it only takes one.

Today would have been Marilyn Monroe's 100th birthday. I think I read that she was going to be TCM's Star Of The Month so they'll be showing a lot of her movies.

Nothing much going at Carolina Cabana today. I went to chair yoga and had a good, 40-min workout.

It's not raining (right now) so I'll go out and "dead head" (not to be confused with a Grateful Dead Head, a/k/a Kevin) my plants. It's amazing out fuller they get when that's done on a regular basis.

Kevin is making 2 loaves of banana bread using the black banana stash from the freezer :).

Enjoy your day !

I stopped at Office Depot to get new batteries for my smoke detectors and part of the road around the parking lot was closed by the police. There was a flatbed truck with a winch pulling a car out of the pond.

Now I'm at Voodoo Brewing. There's a sign on the wall behind the bar with a picture of a cat holding a bottle of Tito's vodka. It says "SHOW ME YOUR TITO'S".

Afternoon all!

I'm at my sister's house and was helping with stuff and the dogs this morning. Then I couldn't find my mouse, so I ran home to look for it. Nope, not on my desk. I found a couple of others, but they don't want to pair with my laptop. Annoying...

Yesterday went well. We found a beautiful place where Cameron and I placed some of his ashes. (I still have some at home). There are pictures on FB, but without my mouse, it's hard to copy/paste.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. SPH!!!! :D :D

Breezy, but sunny day here. Supposed have some rain later.

I'll check in when I can. I have to find that mouse!!

Happy Birthday, SPH!

I was out for a walk today and I listened to "Colour of the Sun." It is a great tune. And it was sunny out :D In Other News... I recently purchased a sticky note dispenser. I don't why I did, but it looks pretty nice.

I've got one picture of the small group.. Renee (PHAW-BN) surprised me and showed up, my former SIL Sherrie (but is still family), Cameron, Me, my sister Kathy, my nephew Paul, my BIL Kurt, and Cippy, husband of Brandy (worked with E) and she took the pictures, in between tears. We found a pretty spot to spread his ashes, and behind us is a small creek, wish was nice.

Why did I think you lived farther away from your sister that you couldn’t “run home” ??

It's about 25 minutes, 90% highway. :)

Happy Birthday, Mr. SPH...

This calls for a video FOR you rather than BY you... (I hope this works)

Fingers crossed you are right... but I heard the opposite...

I did not realize that...
It is also Savannah's birthday... a mere youngster of 47!

I had a feel good moment when I glanced at a magazine from Leader Dogs. I raised money at Tailgating to honor the BNer, Liz and still donate yearly. She was featured in a small article with her beloved guide dog, Hope. It was a little bittersweet, since passed and Liz needs another dog.

Bill - Liz will be getting a new dog..
I just received documents from Guiding Eyes for the Blind that I need to sign. This will give me a reason to walk to the leasing office where someone can help me do this. The official estimation for my new partner is three to six months. This is an estimation so changes could happen, but my new partner in crime is coming. As I learn more about Guiding Eyes for the Blind, I will share, but for now, here is what I do know. This school has been around for 72 years. It is located in New York Heights, New York. The classes are small, so students get the one-on-one training. They have a wonderful dorm where the students have their own room complete with a refrigerator, Internet connectivity, and a TV. The dorm has a nurse's office, a lounge, and a coffee room. Volunteers run yoga during evening hours and they also work with the students on methods of massaging our dogs. I learned how to do this two days after I got Hopey, and she was won over for life. We are fortunate to have approximately 17 guide dog schools in this country, and each school has differing ideas about training and commands. I will go to Guiding Eyes with an open mind and I will be one of the new kids on the block.

Thanks for the b'day wishes.... we just got home from the airport after our quick trip down to the Bay Area.
At the airport when we're in the boarding area, if I see any little kids, I always say a little prayer and say "row 29 please, row 29...."
Well, before today's flight there was a couple, and each of them had a seven month old baby strapped to their chests. I mumbled my prayer, but to no absolutely no avail, because dad sat in the seat directly behind me and mom sat in the seat in front of me!
It turns out that my prayers were not necessary; the babies were absolute angels.... one cried little bit during our descent when the air pressure bothered her ears, but other than that they were perfect. You wouldn't even know they were there.
