Good morning, MsMod! Increasing chance of rain and 62°here in the Upper LH Corner. I have stuff to do outside, but I guess i work on inside stuff today.

One of my very favorite Jimmy Buffett songs...

Oscar Wilde died in bed
Several floors above my head
Living well beyond his means
In that crazy Paris scene

Oscar Wilde was a very interesting man and led a very interesting life (Google or Bing him). I took this picture in Taormina, Sicily last month.

Good afternoon.

There's a restaurant in town that has had a small on site brewery for the last 3 or 4 years. There was an empty lot just down the road, maybe 1/4 mile. They built a brewery there and it had a "soft opening" last week. I went there today, the beer and my buffalo chicken sandwich were pretty good. There were 3 women behind the bar, the one who served me must have been at least 6 feet tall. I only have one complaint, the bar stools are really close together so if it's crowded, and it was, you have to squeeze in to get an empty seat.

That drives me crazy nuts. I hate that. You need to have some space to move in/out of your seat!

Hi there! A long day on water was shortened so I fished a stretch closest to me. A young kid was jumping off the ramp dock while his mother watched. He seemed about 5 years old. He was having a blast!

Good afternoon!

We were quietly making noise at the office today :D It went off perfectly, and I thought I sounded great (as did everyone else). We turned "Don't Stop Believing" into a singalong for the whole group :D :D I brought ice for the folks' drinks, too. Lots of fun!

NICE!!! Many thanks for the tune and the photograph, Mr.SPH!

I wish I could do the photo thing... I have one I took of the Oscar Wilde statue in Dublin...
and my son & his wife are currently in Paris, where they think there is one as well, and are searching for it to send me a pic.

The Dublin statue is really a work of art; marble alone was deemed inadequate, so the statue was formed from different colored stones from three continents. The torso is of green nephrite jade from British Columbia, Canada, and pink thulite from Norway. The legs are of Norwegian Blue Pearl granite and the shoes are black Indian charnockite and are finished with bronze shoelace tips. The statue wears a Trinity College tie made from glazed porcelain, and three rings: Wilde's wedding ring and two scarabs, one for good luck, the other for bad luck.

His tomb is in Paris, but I don’t think there’s a statue, per se…..
There’s also one in London, but it’s a little different:

YEP! That Dublin one is exactly how I remembered it! Although, my photo is not quite as crisp as this interweb one!

And how funny, my son & his wife spent a few days in London before chunneling to Paris, but Oscar Wilde was not on their radar there.
