Heading out this afternoon to see "Big Boy" - more closer to the Eastern plains of CO with my sister/BIL and friends.

I'll keep it brief. Cataract #1 recuperation has not come around like I had hoped. Still 2 weeks out from #2 getting done. Waiting patiently

We're supposed to see 75° and a few showers today... yesterday's "few showers" weren't measurable, just enough to get my car dirty.

"Train to Dixieland" was on a test pressing entitled "Kick It In Second Wind" that became the album "Havana Daydreamin, but didn't make the final cut.

I saw the article about the train. In Lancaster PA there was a restaurant called “Elbys Big Boy”. It was a fat kid holding a burger. Apparently big boys are still around.

We’re exhausted x3. The beach was hot yesterday and we were all in the ocean for a long time. Both boys (the younger 2 went to bed before 9. The 4 old people at 10.

Kevin and I are in the porch watching a neighbor idiot mow his lawn. It’s 91 and the sun is blazing. Most who do their own yard work do it first thing in the morning. We just pay someone.

Hi there! I had a short and pleasing retinal appointment. My vision is stable and I don't go back for 6 months.
A friend drove 60 miles to see Big Boy and was impressed. I worked on a scenic railroad in 87.Except for major healing loss it was a nice job.

There still ARE "Big Boy" restaurants in the country. Mostly in CA and MI. I remember eating at one as a kid.

Penny - Sorry about your fall... OUCH!!! That had to hurt!! Will Alexa be able turn those lights on for you when you enter the dark room? If so, that's pretty darn cool!

When I lived in PA, a neighbor and I took a road trip with our Thomas the Tank Engine-obsessed sons to see one of those HUGE "Big Boys." I 'm not even sure where it was now... but I do remember it was like a 2-hour drive to get there.

Yeah, it hurts a lot, and pretty bruise.. I'm not sure. I've never owed an Alexa. Cameron will have to help me. (Damn I miss Ron during these things)

So the train was amazing today. The engine was SO loud, but fabulous. Not as many cars as I've seen before, but still great. Was so happy we got to go. Some really nice people waiting along the train tracks with us. I have it posted on FB, but I can't copy it here like I have photos.

The 8 day follow up exam says swelling is gone & everything "looks" good.
But I Don't have the vision clarity out of the "repaired" right eye that I was hoping for 2 weeks out. So that doesn't mesh well
with my non repaired left eye. Wearing my prescription glasses with a clear lens over my right eye currently. Seems my 2 eyes just
aren't jibing well together. Hoping that getting the 2nd one done will move things forward. Anticipating I'll still need
some prescription eyewear, especially for up close after both are done.
As I type this, while it's not totally out of focus it's not as sharp as I'd like it to be.
