Wow! Where is everybody?

Another hot & humid day here in SC.

We're exhausted :). The difference in our "old school" parenting is sooooooooo different. Anywho.....better get going before everyone misses me :).

Just 9:00 here, Linda. :D And you & I opened at the same time. I deleted mine. Good luck with the little ones.. :)

Not a lot going on here again. Finished 2 loads of laundry yesterday.

Have a few little things to take care of - and maybe reorganize the fridge. Things got tossed in quickly when I moved.

Have a good Wednesday!! :D

Good morning Linda and Penny.

I had some business to take care of this morning. I was going to go to the Coral Reefer show in Grand Rapids Friday, it would have been my first time in Michigan. When I woke up this morning I wasn't feeling well. My flight tomorrow was at 6:30am so I would have had to get up about 4:00. I didn't want to take a chance that I would still be feeling lousy tomorrow morning so I cancelled the trip. I went online to cancel the hotel reservation and I got a message that it couldn't be cancelled and I should call the hotel for help. I called and a very pleasant sounding young lady took my information and said she would cancel the reservation and there was no charge. That surprised me, the confirmation email I received when I made the reservation said there was free cancellation if I cancelled by 11:59pm July 25,which was 4 days ago. After that I would have to pay the first night's fee.

Then I went to American Airlines to cancel my flight. I've cancelled reservations with American before and always got a trip credit, not a refund. I entered my information and got a message that my trip was eligible for a refund to my original form of payment, so I'm getting my money back.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Sorry you're not feeling well, Larry. And sorry you're missing the trip. :( But I'm so pleased you had such positive responses from the airlines and hotel! :)

:D Cameron got me an Alexa Dot, in case I have any emergencies. Last night my slipper caught the corner of my living room rug, and I hit my knee, and head on the edge of the couch. So, my balance is kinda getting a bit worse. :-? And I can ask Alexa to play Buffett music. :D

AND he got my printer to print from my laptop. :D

Not a lot going on here today either. I had some errands planned, but it was friggin' POURING out... they can wait! Did some cleaning instead.

Linda - not a grandparent, but I have seen "new" parenting by the young people in our neighborhood... and yeah... it's different!

Penny - I'll be tackling my laundry tomorrow!

Larry - Bummer you had to cancel your trip... :(
Especially since it was not just a CR concert, but a "new" state for you.
However, like Penny said, at least you were able to cancel the air and hotel for full refunds!! That is almost unheard of these days! You must have sounded truly pitiful on the phone! I hope you feel better soon!

I am so disappointed you aren’t feeling well enough to travel. It would have been wonderful to run into you in GR. It is a beautiful city, and I have heard the venue is really nice.

YaY for the refunds you are getting, though.
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Hi kids!

Been a beautiful day in Michigan today. High 70’s, sun, and low humidity. Spent some time floating in my cheesy pool while listening to the Tiger game. They are currently tied after giving up a 7 run lead in like the 8th inning. I am half listening, but I think they are in the 11th inning-unheard of with all the cheats they have built into the game once regulation ends.

Picked a bunch of beans, a few cucumbers, tomatoes, and a pepper from the garden. This is one of my favorite things when veggies start to mature. Can’t beat garden fresh. In a few weeks I will have so many tomatoes I won’t know what to do with them all.

Great photo, Penny!

I spent most of the day with Anne, then dug root balls and ditches for 3 hours.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.
