Take The Weather With You WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
Good morning world! It's a hot one here. I'm laying low.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Bill and BN!
Cameron texted me a few minutes ago and asked me if I wanted a donut from Lamar's. They are REALLY good donuts. So he and Sarah just brought me a really large Bavarian cream one.
Yesterday I vacuumed, Swiffered, and ran the dishwasher.
We are warming up again, but it's cool this morning at 53 degrees.
Have a good Wednesday!!

Good morning Bill and Penny.
It was raining again this morning but it stopped. It's time to venture out and go grocery shopping.

The wildfires in Eastern Washington are really starting to affect the air quality here on the westside. The wildfires burning across Washington and Oregon have left Portland with the worst air quality among major cities around the world, edging out Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
I guess I'll have to follow the King County Department of Health's instructions to stay indoors and avoid physical activity......
Just like MsMod, MrsSPH is Swiffering, but otherwise it's a take it easy kind of day.

Grocery shopping is done, I think I'll head out to Bohemian Bull for lunch. Wednesday is 1/2 price burger day and it's National IPA Day, IPAs are only $5 today.

Thanks for the music, Mr. SPH.
Didn't know anyone else sang the song!
Our skies are icky again today, too.
Sounds like a great reason to go to lunch there, Larry!

I got to Bohemian Bull and the bartender told me the $5 IPA deal was tomorrow, not today.
Then he said since I was a regular he'd hook me up with the $5 deal today. He's been here since Old Chicago was in this same location and he's a good guy. His tip will show my appreciation.

They have MLBTV on one of the TVs, the Cubs are playing the Dodgers. Former Myrtle Beach Pelican Pete Crow-Armstong, a/k/a PCA, plays for the Cubs. It's only the 3rd inning but he already has a home run and a double. When he played for the Pelicans he was by far the best player on the team. And he might be the best defensive outfielder in the major leagues.

Re: Take The Weather With You WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
Good afternoon!
I walked the shoulder of Route 126 (Bellingham's Main Street) from my house to the southernmost tree nursery. 7.11 miles round trip!
I expected it to be fairly straightforward, but it was very tiring. Especially with the sweltering sunlight...85 feels like 100. My legs feel like jelly now, but it was great to get out of the house, albeit with a little heat exhaustion.
Penny, I hope you brought some donuts for the rest of us!

Jerry...from Massachusetts. I'd like to go where it's warm!

Re: Take The Weather With You WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
PCA just hit another home run. The Cubs are winning 5-1 and he's driven in 4 of the runs. And in a typical Mets move, when he was in the minor leagues they traded him to the Cubs for a guy who was going to be a free agent at the end of the year. That guy left the Mets when he became a free agent, they were left with nothing in return for a player who has been on the All Star team in 2 of his 4 years in the major leagues.

Praying for some rain to douse those flames.
Thanks for the music! A Wednesday trifecta of tunes!! I love comparing the original versions to JB's covers! And the bonus CH tune was fun!
Penny - it is warm again here too... mid 80s but we have that whole humidity thing you never have to deal with. And that is one crazy lightning photo!!
Larry - it pays to be a "regular"!
Jerry - that is quite a walk... especially in this humidity!
Bill - we're not doing much outside today either... Sunday we spent too much time out of the A/C and SoulMate had a bad reaction to it... he's fine now, but we are being very careful.

Yeah, imagine the 60,000 people who had to evacuate in the Spokane area.Caribbean Soul wrote: I've been thinking of you... I know Spokane is in way eastern WA, but I aso know how smoke can travel in weird directions...
I guess people in Florida do it every year due to hurricanes, but still.....

I'd be more afriad of fire because a sudden wind shift and it can be on you with barely any notice. At lest the Floridians generally have days to prepare. Honestly, of all the natural disasters, I'd rank fire #1 with earthquakes & tornadoes right up there too, for the same reason. I'll take my occasional blizzards over those and even hurricanes any day!SeattleParrotHead wrote: August 5, 2026 8:13 pmYeah, imagine the 60,000 people who had to evacuate in the Spokane area.Caribbean Soul wrote: I've been thinking of you...
