We need to drink ALOT of water with all this heat. Fortunately, because of my past history of kidney stones I have a water app on my phone that reminds me to get at least 64 oz in me each day. I've been a large water drinker all my life so it's not hard for me. Kevin laughs as I drag my 20oz Tervis with me everywhere we go but it works for me.
We did get more rain in the last 2 days and now the grass if taking off. Bad side is it's too wet for our lawn guy to mow but at least the whole neighborhood is in the same position so it doesn't look worse than anyone else's. Well, except for the goobers across the street who have HUGE patches of dirt where the kids continue to dig .
Yesterday while it rained I dragged out the puzzle I was working on before the kids visit. Kevin pulled out the DVD box of Live Aid so we watched that. He would commentate....."oh that guy is dead -- let me check about that band member"....etc. It was cool to watch (and laugh at the attire) but it made us sad that all of our music makers are slowly leaving us.(just like Jimmy)
Off to chair yoga at 3:30 and that's it for my schedule today.
We got about a10 min downpour and now the sun is out and it is STEAMY!! Yuck
I’m working on the grocery list for Friday as our daughter’s family arrives via plane around 6 Sunday evening. They’ll fly out at the same time Thursday night.
Being her mother’s daughter Bridget has already asked us to find a place they can take us to dinner. Grandson Eli (15) will spend a few hours with a fire fighter neighbor guy. In Feb Eli was named a jr fire fighter for the Township were I was a part time zoning officer (my 2 yr retirement job). He wants to learn about beach/water type rescues and compare equipment. The neighbor is thrilled to talk with Eli (as his 2 boys ages 4 and 6 are a little too young yet.).
I deadheaded some of my hanging basket flowers and was soaked from the humidity when I came inside. Yuck. Off to the shower.
I'm just killing time today, I have an appointment to bring my car in for service at 3:30.
The Pelicans sort of played a doubleheader last night. They're playing in Columbia, SC and Tuesday night's game was suspended in the 3rd inning because it was raining. They finished the game last night and lost, then played the regular Wednesday night game but only 7 innings instead of 9. They lost that game too and 2 Columbia pitchers combined to pitch a no-hitter. There's only about a month left in the season and I might not go to anymore games, they're just pathetic this season.
Hi there! I got in a short, well needed fishing trip near a town. A factory is along the river with a 4 lane beside. We saw a fawn in the brush between the factory and the river. The bank was only a few feet wide. With no doe with it, the fawn will have a tough time of it.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.
I lost most of the afternoon because about 2:00 a tree fell on some wires and both National Grid and Xfinity said the outage would go to 4PM .
We decided to go out to lunch to stay in A/C. We were < 2 miles from home when I got texts from both companies AND my neighbor saying we were back up... but pizza was calling so we continued on our way. If we thought it would be back in less than 30 minutes, we'd have stayed home, but pizza won! Then I had to tackle the rest of the laundry... which I literally just finished!
Now I have to see about dinner...
Hopefully I can get some time later to play catch-up!

Car service was done pretty quickly, then I went to the mall for a walk because it's hot out. I came home and had dinner, now it's time for a cold beverage.
And I was wrong, IPA Day wasn't yesterday, it's today.
