Have a few small chores today, nothing crazy. Mostly tidying up a few things.

Mid 70's today, and a slight chance of rain. Right now it's in the low 60's.

My clock radio was a little more than 1/2 hour fast last night. I reset it before I went to bed and when I woke up this morning it still had the right time. Maybe I'll hold off getting a new one.

Public service announcement - tomorrow is National Cheeseburger Day. Plan accordingly.

We're having a stretch of beautiful weather here, I love the Autumnal glow the we get this time of the year.
We might be getting a new roof soon, when I got up this morning there was a porta potty (a"Drain-Pro" actually) in the street in front of my house.
I checked my Ring Doorbell cam history and see that it was delivered at 4:45 this morning!

A port o john story' at Camden we werer parked in a small lot with one port o jon facing the street. On the opposite side were many for the larger lot. To keep ours less used, someone hung an OUT OF ORDER sign. It worked.

I made my weekly brewery visit today. I was sitting at the bar sipping on a beer and waiting for my food. Some guy came in carrying a briefcase, looked like a sales rep, and asked if the owners were there. The guy behind the bar said "they live in Charleston, they're never here". They must have a lot of confidence in their employees if they never show up to see how things are going.

Ok, I didn't think portaloo stories would be on my bingo card this morning

So here's mine. Many (and I mean many, many, many) years ago I was working at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Our road crew were camping beside the Peel River that runs through the centre of town. The town council had forgotten to deliver a portaloo to the campsite, which was somewhat inconvenient! It was a publicly available campsite.

The nearest facilities were about 500 yards away across a highway and a farmers paddock.

Due to the number of bands we did work for and the fact that several of them gave us a fair bit of attention and stage presence, we had some notoriety (in a good way). The town mayor came to speak to us as he needed a couple of guys for a late notice gig the council wanted to do. Some charity thing IIRC. While chatting we mentioned the portaloo issue. He promised he'd look into it.

That night we decided enough was enough and as roadies it was our job to sort it out. So we grabbed a car, opened the paddock gates then drove to where the other portaloos were. We tied a rope around two of them and successfully dragged them across the field, across the highway and across the campsite then placed them is a suitable position where the servicing truck could get to them. Happy days!

We ran into the mayor the next morning (at his gig) and he said he had arranged to get the issue fixed. We told him of our shenanigans of the previous evening to which he said "I never doubted that you guys would get it sorted in your own way" he then rang the sanitation folk and told them of the new location of the loos!

YAY!!! It's starting to sprinkle and by 9:00 it looks to be several hours of rain!!

Unfortunately, it's right on the periphery of the cam, and the door is on the far side, so I probably won't see anything.
Also unfortunately, the biopsy results are back and I have another incidence of Squamous Cell Carcinoma in my left leg. It's nothing new; I have several scars on my legs from previous occurrences.... I'll be visiting my dermatologist for another scrape and burn session. The more troubling thing for me was the notification;, the clinic that I go to (Virginia Mason Clinic)(the same one that MrsSPH spent her last 34 years of nursing at) has "merged" with Franciscan Health and is installing all new systems. In the past, the doctor's office would call with test results... today I got a text telling me that I had cancer in my leg. About an hour later the doctor's office called......

Also unfortunately, the biopsy results are back and I have another incidence of Squamous Cell Carcinoma in my left leg. It's nothing new; I have several scars on my legs from previous occurrences.... I'll be visiting my dermatologist for another scrape and burn session. The more troubling thing for me was the notification;, the clinic that I go to (Virginia Mason Clinic)(the same one that MrsSPH spent her last 34 years of nursing at) has "merged" with Franciscan Health and is installing all new systems. In the past, the doctor's office would call with test results... today I got a text telling me that I had cancer in my leg. About an hour later the doctor's office called......

I'm sorry to hear, Mr. SPH. I've never had that issue, and wish you the best. Does the procedure hurt a lot? And I'm not fond of a text to give you such unhappy news.

Larry - so the clock lives on?! Yay! I'm not even sure where I would look to replace ours if it ever dies!

Mr. SPH - sorry about the cancer diagnosis. It seems you've been through it before, but still... CANCER SUCKS!
But YAY for your imminent new roof! But what's with the recent "fad" of having a port-a-potty there? I swear the Port-a-Potty companies have convinced contractors that every job site needs one.
Oh, and once again, thanks for the cool videos!

Does the procedure hurt a lot? And I'm not fond of a text to give you such unhappy news.

The procedure isn't too bad (curettage and electrodesiccation); they'll anesthetize the area with a little shot of lidocain/epinephrine so I won't feel anything, but the smell is pretty bad. The spot will be painful for a few days until the hole heals up. Like I said, been there, done that, got the scars to prove it. This will be my fifth or sixth one, all on my lower legs.
Having been through it before (and expecting it this time), the notification via text ain't really that big of deal for me, but the notion that they would do it that way appalls me.... how would someone not knowledgeable react to a text saying "the results are in and you have cancer"?
