Will Jimmy tour if we go to war?

I have heard several TV and radio personalities talking about the possibility of cancelling or postponing the NCAA tournament should, or I'll say, when we go to war. My question is this,
"Would you feel OK about going to a show while American men and women are dying in Iraq?" Or better yet, "would Jimmy?"
I have mixed feelings, one side of me is saying that we need to have fun and do the things we would normally do...but another side is wondering if its approriate to have so much fun while others are suffering so much.....This was must on my mind and I was interested to see how you guys felt...

here's my thoughts:
SchoolGirlHeart wrote:From the perspective of someone who spent half of last year on the Far Side, here’s what you do.
You go to the show and have a blast!!
You toast the troops at the tailgater. You scream your lungs out, because some of the lucky ones are able to listen to the show on RM at 4AM. You hope Jimmy dedicates a song to them. You take a couple of hours to have fun.
Then you go home and make sure your flag is flying. You spread the word: whether you agree or disagree with the leadership of the country on whether or not there SHOULD be a war, that those troops didn’t get a say, and they are out there protecting our freedoms and our way of life. If you are displeased with the decisions of the country’s leadership, PLEASE don’t take it out on the troops. Thank God we live in a free country where we’re allowed to disagree, but please remember that it’s those volunteers in the military who protect the *right* to disagree.
If you know someone over there, maybe even a Parrot Head, send email, snail mail, and care packages. Nothing touched my heart last year like getting a box full of goodies from people who hardly knew me... It *still* brings tears to my eyes!
Hug your kids, your loved ones, your friends. They might not be here tomorrow. It’s a dangerous world, and life is a fragile thing.............
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for thinking about this, CC!!
(Pssssst... P.S. It's not just our "boys" who'll be fighting, but our "girls", too.... and we'll be praying hard for every, single one of them to return home safely.)
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

I think Jimmy will continue to tour. He always talks about what a great release attending one of his shows is. It will allow us to think about something else for a few hours. Now pass the tequila!!!

) bare my breasts in defiance!!! I'll do it phor my opressed sisters in Iraq! (Hey, at least this time I'll have an excuse!)

ok think about this..if we curl up and crawl into a hole while the war is goig on..who is the winner ..the winner is the friggin losers who we are fighting against.(and i am toning it down for the youngsters who might be reading this)...we have to go on with out life...pray for the soldiers and hope there safe return but dont give up on life..and as far as im concerned jimmy is life..so keep the flags and the fins held high and drink a margarita for the soldiers and have one for yer self while yer at it long live freedom and the right to bare grass skirts and drink fozen concoctions...

Of course he will! He did so after 9/11 and I agree with all the posts listed above! We are Americans and this is what we do! But don't ever forget what are soliders are doing for us in the process!!!

I went to Jimmy's MSG show (that's Madison Square Garden in NYC for those of geographically impaired) in Nov. '01. I wasn't sure A) that there was going to be a show or B) if Jimmy was going to tone it down, but the show was on and for a few hours that night everybody didn't forget what happened, but Jimmy helped us to put it on the back burner for awhile. Bubba understands the "relief" his shows give to all of us and help us to get by. By the way the night of the concert Jimmy donated the doors receipts to the Twin Towers disaster fund, he is a HELLUVA guy!! Long live Jimmy!!

In 2001, Tinley Park was postponed from the 13th and 15th of September, to the 27th and 29th.

Yyyyep!! I was supposed to fly to Chicago on 9/12 for the 9/13 show. My poor 13 y/o keet got the days mixed up, and spent all day on 9/11 thinking I had climbed on a plane in Boston that morning, and wasn't sure if I was on one of
the planes...
After some creative travel planning, I was able to attend the show on the 29th. Remember the National Anthem before the show??? *CHILLS*
We thought it might be the last party for a while, and it was... Three weeks later, I was recalled to active duty, and spent most of the FSOTW Tour *ON* the FSOTW!
If the music goes silent, the bad guys win.
Party on!!!!
