Post by springparrot »

It's time for the Ophicial Houston thread.

We need a head count.

How many are going?

And who are attending the pre-party at Papa's Ice House?

I'll start--2 coming from Spring

Mrs. TigerStripe and I will be there along with another couple. Doubt that we make Papa's before hand since we are coming from way south of Houston to get there....

I'll be there with SP and Larry. Can't wait. I haven't seen Bubba in Houston since the 80's.

I'm trying to get you a map.

It is on the feeder on I-45 going towards Woodlands. Take the Rayford-Sawdust exit.

I'll get more info as soon as I can.

i have 7 others joining me from lafayette, LA. NOt sure how soon before show we will arrive because i have only heard nightmarish stories about the traffic. right now, i'm just hoping to get there before show time, anything other than that then we will play it by ear.

For the person who asked: The Woodlands (I used to work at the Mitchell offices, which are VERY close to the venue, and, in fact, the best place to park, IMO) are exactly 42 miles from where I used to live in SW Houston when I commuted out there -- so figure, from I-10/Houston tollroad vicinity, about 40 miles.

Have fun, you guys (I've moved this year): it was SO NICE last year when he finally went back to The Woodlands after all of those years in the hockey rink (and it IS a lovely venue -- except for no tailgating -- one of the FEW places I think lawn seating is okay), and I was pleased last year (and this year for those of you going) that the "summer" concert has moved to April (when the weather is nice) from July (I can remember 114 degree heat index one year). Last year we stayed at the Icehouse party 'til about an hour and a half before showtime, got good parking (though you do need to drive from there) and my friends on the lawn were perfectly happy with where they ended up.

Again, have FUN! (If it's only 11 days 'til Houston, it can't be that much longer 'til Vegas, right?)
