Album recommendations?

Post by CousinInCali »

Hi All,
Look, I'm only a couple of years into my Buffett experience and he has sooo many albums. I need some help so I don't go broke.
I like fun, caribbean songs. Give me steel drums and horns and I am in heaven. Plus, I like fun songs. I Will Play for Gumbo, Fruitcakes, etc. Don't care for country as a rule.
Here is a hint. I got the box set and have three of them in my car, while Ballads has only been played once.
I already have Fruitcakes, Beach House, Feeding Frenzy, Far Side, Songs You Know..., the Box Set and some live recordings.
Any recommendations?

Ummm...I would reccomend the later 80s.
One Perticular Harbor,
Riddles In The Sand,
FLORIDAYS,
LAST MANGO IN PARIS,
Hot Water,
Off To See The Lizard,
and then maybe Volcano.
Its a lot, but I hope it helps! :D
and Jimmy theres still so much to be done...

CIC,
Given your input above, I'd recommend Barometer Soup or Floridays...

Definitely Barometer Soup! I had it for years before I really listened to it and I haven't taken it out of my CD changer since!

buy them when they are on sale. tower records is more expensive than target or walmart. if you can wait, you will pay a lot less than if you walk in and pay what ever inflated price they are going for at that time.

Okay. I ordered Barometer Soup, Off To See the Lizard, Hot Water and Club Trini Live. In other words, I spent a lot anyway. Oh well, just think of all the new Jimmy I get to experience. Thanks for your recommendations. I'm sure someday I will own them all and answer this same question for someone else. By the way, I did buy at Amazon, through this site. Got to support the fun.

And dont forget some of the earlier ones:
Livin and dyin in 3/4 time
Banana Wind
CILCIA
Although a lot of "country type" songs, there all are great to listen to. Plus its neat to hear where all the songs on Bx4 came from!

I have to agree on YHTBT. When someone asks why I love Buffett so much, I let them borrow that cd.

I used to not like Ballads either, the more I played it the more it became my favorite just sit back and listen compilation. Give it some time. I like Floridays a lot, on of my faves.

Do what my wife and I did, we looked at our Buffett collection and compared it to what was available and the said OH WHAT THE HELL and bout all of the rest all at once.
