JONES BEACH!!!!
For those that care......
I got the newest copy of the April, METRO Parrothead newsletter recently. In it, they promised us members that they have received assurances from "Jimmy's people" and "people at Jones Beach" that there will, in fact, be a Jones Beach show added this year.
Here's hoping it happens!!!

That would be great news if it's true! But Buffett has stated that there
isn't going to be a Jones Beach show because of so-called "logistics".
I don't remeber the exact show but I'm pretty positive he said it on Radio Margaritaville during the February winter tour. I still think he should be play one regardless, because the show was orginally posted on his website early this year for a couple of weeks and he p*** off a lot of New York fans by removing it from the schedule.

I agree! Last years Jones Beach show for me was not so great! I had really bad seats and was surrounded by a less than enthusiastic crowd. So it left me with a really bad taste in my mouth for the venue.Plus I didn't think the show was that great!(way better two nights later at GW) I would much rather him play the Garden in the fall or winter. The place is awesome for a show!DisisDave wrote:I question this a bit...I hope it's true and it falls when I can get there, but there is a yearly touring pattern of alternating J. Beach & MSG shows for us in the New York market. As much as I like J. Beach, the Garden is far more accessible. I know it's not outdoors BUT I do LOVE MSG shows!!

MATTY DREAMS
Jimmy has scured a Jones Beach show, and promsied a lot in 01' of coming back to Columbus. And Irvine is expecting a show. And 18 is a kinda short concert season. So is there MAYBEEE going to be another 6 summer shows before winter, or a winter tour?
I AM NOT TRYING TO ASK TO MUCH FROM JIMMY, JUST DREAMING

I hate MSG, though I would go there for Jimmy. I think it's a fire trap. Have you ever seen how long it takes to get out? I do not like that place, though it is much closer to me than Jones Beach, probably 45 minutes vs. 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

Not necessarily - Jimmy doesn't keep the band that informed. Many times they are the last to know - WE sometimes get info before they do.Ceol na Mara wrote:But "his people" were the Coral Reefers. Parrotheads talked to them at that music fest a week or so ago. Wouldn't they know where they were going?
