"Growing older but not up" was played...........awesome!!!! That's my theme songs I live by, and I hope that song finds the set list at one of the five shows I'm attending this summer.

Shoreline was packed. This is the first time I have seen Jimmy on the West Coast. I used to live in Charlotte NC and I saw him there from 1992-1996.

I had a great time at the show. I wish he had played a few songs from the Fruitcakes album. I think this is his best album in 10 years.

Jimmy still knows how to entertain. The atmosphere out West is much different the shows in the Southeast. Not sure why, but the crowds in Charlotte are much more into the shows.

The pre-show buzzing of the Shoreline Phlock by the Hemisphere Dancer was very cool! Jimmy & the Reefers were phantastic!

We brought our kids for the first time & now we're going to make this an annual event. Thanks to my wife Sassy for a great birthday present!

Fins Up!

Wow!! What a show!!! This had to be one if not the best Jimmy concert we have seen at Shoreline.Super set list and everyone seemed to have lots of fun.At least where we were sitting.One note.. did anyone notice while he was singing "I will play for gumbo" it sounded like he messed up the words or forgot a verse.It sounded a little strange but the awesome Coral Reefers improvised and you barely could notice.It would be nice if he played maybe at Oakland next year.It's really hard to have any pre-concert fun at Shoreline when the Police were giving out tickets for any alcohol consuming even in plastic cups out in the parking lot.I guess Shoreline really needs there share of the $6.50 + per beer price! Thankgod for ATM's!!!

This was my first Jimmy live in 14 years, my first in an outdoor venue, and my first sober! I had more fun last night than ever. The lost lyrics and the laughs, and the beach balls on stage, all that kind of stuff just adds to the live show experience.
One of my favorite moments was when Jimmy started Uncle John's Band with a salute to Jerry. And I've heard that west coast crowds are more reserved. Seattle always was - used to drive me crazy!

This show was very special to me; it was my first show with my husband. We met on line because he used the name Parrotheadjim and too was a parrothead, needless to say things worked out. We are coming up on our first anniversary on May 8th and this kicked of the celebration early. What a fun time. I was also going crazy when Jimmy played Uncle Johns Band. I have seen several Dead Shows at the Shoreline and having Jimmy sing a dead tune made my day. Jimmy rules. Happy anniversary honey. I love you! Bina

Viva Buffett...the man is a living legend by now. This was the seventh time I'd seen him and the second time for my girlfriend. As usual, he delivered a terrific entertaining show and the Band demonstrated impressive musicianship/talent.

High points for me included
- the Hemisphere Dancer "buzzing" the amphitheater before the show (I've attended about a hundred concerts at Shoreline and no other performer has done that!);
- seeing normally-staid Walter C. in a Hawaiian shirt made everyone laugh like crazy;
- in the first or second song Jimmy getting a little flustered when he tried to pull out a pick from the mic stand but it wouldn't budge which threw him off a bit but then he seemed to laugh it off and loosen up a lot;
- the set design and lighting is better than it's ever been, with lots of cool effects like sundowns, moons, sunlight streaming through the clouds, all beautiful;
- the hot moves by the backup singers during "I Will Play For Gumbo", where the lyric mentions sex and the gals made a sexy move arching their backs (purrr!);
- the intermission video of the parrotheads featured a 60ish lady who had sat next to us on the lawn, she had elaborate parrot earrings and also had made these outrageous little cookieish "cheesebugers" out of vanilla wafers, oreos, and coconut;
- the song "Growing Older But Not Up" was a lot of fun;
- The "I Dream of Jeannie" parody was hilarious (but I wonder what the kids who've never seen the TV show were thinking though);
- The "it really happened" comments about kids taking the WDWGDAS song to school were hilarious;
- "Flesh and Bone" with all the tech references was well received by the heavily computer oriented crowd;
- Jimmy shamelessly exploiting the San Jose Sharks hockey team, wearing a jersey during "Fins"
- "One Particular Harbor" gets better every year, always a musical high point;
- as he has several times at Shoreline since '96 (I think) he did "Uncle John's Band" as a tribute to the Dead and the way the whole crowd and Jimmy responded emotionally (he seemed to be a little sad/somber and missing Jerry G.) was very powerful, and I give Jimmy a lot of respect for the way he honors other musicians;
- "Pacing the Cage" was an excellent closer.

Some minor negatives:
- the sound was a little substandard compared to previous years, it was a little difficult to make out certain words;
- tickets were not easy to come by even for local residents like me, but I was lucky enough to only pay TM fees back in February when they went on sale--the lady with the earrings/cheeseburger cookies had flown in from Atlanta as a last minute thing and had to pay $98 for the same tix I paid $25 for;
- I wonder why Jimmy only schedules one night in N. California when he does two in smaller metro areas, some of which have less than a third of the population of SF/San Jose--perhaps two nights at the new Giants stadium would be a good idea;
- I loved it when he had opening bands like Evangeline...what happened?
- It was a little early in the season and COLD...cuts down on the fun factor when the parrotheads have to wear coats (but it didn't rain and was a clear full moon night).

Thanks again Jimmy for the great times and inspiration... One of my girlfriend's pet names for me is "the Pirate" and it always reminds me of being with her at her first JB concert in '98.

I think Jimmy's best Bay Area concert EVER was in
'91 at Concord on a warm and beautiful Sunday
(Father's Day) afternoon. Even my wife who was nine-months pregnant and not really a parrothead
enjoyed it. The only complaint I heard was the
next day a couple of friends said that it was so
warm they went a bit heavy on the Corona and were
pretty toasted.

I DON'T miss the opening acts at all. It leaves more time for Jimmy.

I DO miss him splitting his time between Concord and Shoreline...but he played more often then.
He'd play Thursday at Concord and Friday at Shoreline.

The last time he played here for two nights, I went both nights and on the second night, there
were some empty seats in reserved section especially on the far sides and a lot of vacant space on the lawn. I'd prefer two nights in the area but I'll take what I can get.

Someone suggested playing in Oakland next year. I
can't see Jimmy playing arenas. He needs to be outdoors. Pac Bell Park would be fun but I don't
think the neighbors would be very happy.

Jimmy made a brief appearance at The SportsPage in
Mt View about 3 hours before concert time. (This
is the official pre-concert Parrothead party
spot). He stayed a short time, and was not
bothered by fans. Amazing!! I couldn't believe my
eyes. He seemed amused by the fact that he was
bring left alone. Seemed to be enjoying all the
craziness going on. This was definitely our guy
..the owner spoke to us after h

Even though I am a long time huge parrothead this was the first time I have been able to see him, We made the trek up from Reno and even brought our 1 yr old son in his stroller. and with the exception of being way out in the lawn seats it was one of the best shows I have ever seen, The set list was fantastic even though I am sure we all walked away wishing he had played that one special song. But you sure cant complain with the songs that he did play, I will definitely be sure to bring the wife and kids again next year, My one complaint was around us were a bunch of people who were barely familiar with his music and were only there to get drunk, dont get me wrong I am not against a good party especially a parrothead gathering.

And what about the Hemisphere dancer wasnt that incredible!
Jimmy is King!
