Margarita Emergency!

Having a party on Saturday and I was going to make up a batch of margaritas, using one of those pre-packaged "just add tequila and freeze overnight" containers. Only problem is, the mix has a "best before" date of May 4. My wife refuses to serve it (I'm not so fussy), so here's my question:

I have a package of lemon-lime Kool-Aid. If I make up the Kool-Aid as per the instructions, dump it in the container with the tequila and freeze it overnight, will I end up with something roughly approximating a margarita?

Tomorrow's a holiday here (Canada Day), so I can't go out and buy more stuff. I was hoping to get this in the freezer tonight (or tomorrow at the latest), so any timely advice would be most appreciated!

Got any OJ and grenadine? :D

Not real sure the Kool-Aid thing will work...my advice is tell the wife you did the Kool-Aid thing and use the other stuff. Can't imagine what's in the pre-packaged mix that freezing and tequila won't over-ride. Just a part-time bartenders opinion... :D

The lemon-lime Kool-Aid worked just fine. It froze pretty solid so I needed to let it thaw a little bit, and then I found it a little too sweet, so I added a bit of 7-Up to it. Turned out pretty good.
