I am thinking of buying one of the smootie makers that are now advertised , does anyone have any experience with these machines? If so are they more trouble than they are worth?
Right now we just use our blender to make our drinks.

It's very handy for making drinks because of the pour spout. We just had one in the woods with us for 4 days during our family camping trip. And it got A LOT of use.
I think pouring from a blender can be quite tricky when you've had a few!

Costco had it here for a pretty good price...

thanks for the reply, but I would have thought that there would be more of a responce to this question to the BN'ers. I would have thought that this website would have lots of comments/ feedback on frozen drink mixers. Please excuse my mis-spellings since I had a few frozen ones already. But right now I am using my ostyerizer and it seems to be working fine with the exception of a spout. (extra clean up, ya know) Is it really worth the spout or is the blender just fine. The onlt thing i see better on the smoothie mixers (daquri makers) is the wattage, like 700watts. I suggest yes!

I have the Smoothie Elite, retails for about 40, from Target or Sears. I love it. It's easily cleanable, nice wide mouth, and a good seal on the lid. It's nicely weight distributed so that when you pull forward the dispenser, it doesn't tip forward.

I didn't really think I would use it and it was a Christmas gift, and I've found that I use it at least once or twice a week. It also crushes ice nicely. I've been very impressed with it.

I would only recommend a smoothie maker if you really make smoothies, shakes, or mixed thick drinks. I have a kitchenaid blender which I was using before I got it, and I do like the smoothie machine's consistency better. I'm sure it's just a matter of perception, but I would well recommend one if you think you'll use it.

I don't think there is much difference between the two.I have one of each and I'll use which ever I find first.

Most of the online stores have good range of smoothie maker. Anyhow reviews shows following brands are best to choose from:
1.Hamilton beach

• It is stylish and attractive

• Small in size

• low price

• performance is quit better

2. Ninja

• Can crush the ice

• Portable

• Blender blades are quiet sharp

• Power saving

Vitmax, blendtec also have good models which can help you to squeeze the fruits and vegetables without any hurdle.
