Sure, being a member of the CRB has got to be fine and dandy, but come on, Peter Mayer gets the shaft.

First Buffett conveniently "schedules" the recording of the LTC album during the month of December so he can use his buddy Sonny Landreth on guitar for the recording. PM has been booked during December every year for how many years now?

Then Peter Mayer and his band have a gig booked at MOTM 2004 and Buffett crashes it. He lets PM play like 3 or 4 songs then turns it into a JB show. What the heck is that? OK, you're Jimmy Buffett, but if your gonna play a show then book it as a JB show. At least if you're gonna play at PM's show then drop in for a few songs and leave. I'm sure some people actually go to a Peter Mayer show to see Peter Mayer.

Then it seems when JB and the band are on TV or playing some shows he's gotta bring Sonny back in to steal PM's guitar parts. What the hell is PM doing on acoustic guitar? There are 3 other people on acoustic guitar--don't need a 4th. The guy lays down some great work and this is how he's rewarded?

It was MOTM, not a Peter Mayer show. Granted he was scheduled but really, isn't everyone there hoping for something just like that from "The Man" at MOTM?

He's had numerous guests appear on stage with him at various times. PM is much more accomplished on the guitar than Jimmy or Sonny combined (IMHO), I enjoy the guest performers and former Coral Reefers appearances and feel they enhance more than take away from the show. When Ed Bradley sat in on the hurricane Katrina benefit did he really take away from Ralph MacDonald's performance?
