Salvador's Original Margarita

Okay, so I got lazy this weekend and picked up a bottle of Salvador's Original Margarita:
It's a pre-mixed margarita and it's not bad. I find the taste a little overpowering so it seems best to pour some into a glass full of ice and let it sit for a few minutes.
My wife says it's too tart for her, so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how I could "cut" it to make it more appealing? Some lemonade or limeade, maybe? (Then again, if I leave it "too tart" there'll be more for me!

)

more lemon or lime would make it even more tart. maybe add some other non-premixed margarita mix that she likes? maybe add some gran marnier to sweetin it up?

This would do it for me. Even approved by the margarita gods as it is on the menu at Margaritaville

I was thinking about cutting it with a bit of OJ, so yeah, a slice of orange could do the trick.
By the way -- my name's not Duh.

I would use a little triple sec and a splash of "bar water/syrup water".
Bar water is 2 cups sugar and 1 cup water (bring to light boil and dissolve sugar) let cool. I keep it in a container in the fridge with a sealed lid. This way if someone wants a drink with "kick" but doesn't like the tart or strong tequila taste you can add a splash to cover

A splash of beer will help mellow out margarita gone wild.

What always works for me is:
A can of frozen Barcardi's Margarita Mix, pour into a decent blender.
Add a half can of decent tequilla such as Jose Cuervo or Sauza, the can that contained the Margarita Mix.
Add a 1/4 can of decent Triple Sec such as Bol's.
Fill blender with ice.
Cycle through the blender from crush ice to smoothie.
Salt rim and pour into a glass.
Yeah it's simple but good doesn't have to be complex.

The beer will just dilute everything equaly. The Grand Marnier will sweeten it, but add more than just sweetness to the mix.
If tartness is her only objection, just add some sugar and she will be fine.
Watching her weight? Add her favorite artificial sweetener.
My wife blends it with no sweetener, then adds sugar or different sugar substitutes to each glass depending on the dieting drinkers preference.
I like mine tart and simple.
I finaly tried Grand Marnier instead of Triple Sec just yesterday! (rocks, not blended)
Definatly a treat! But, as with any orange liquer, I like it in a very small ratio to the tequilla.
Is Contreu close in taste to Grand Marnier?

yes and no.. pretty close, but to me it is closer to Hyrum Walkers Triple sec.. (Which in the brands I have tasted is the best.)
