Review : As always, a great show! Club Trini put on a good show outside before the "big show", with even Amy Lee showing up to sign her new CD for the Parrot Heads. Outside, the wind was howling and the temperatures dropping, but inside, as Jimmy put it, we were "melting the ice!" Great set, though a little predictable thanks to previous shows on Radio Margaritaville. The only drawbacks were that from time to time, parts of what Jimmy was saying would get lost in the crowd noise. In part, because of the terrible acoustics in the Ice Palace. Tampa needs a new place for concerts. That building wasn't designed with music in mind. I think whoever was running the sound board was partly to blame as well. The second disappointment was that during the first half of the show, Fingers' microphone wasn't turned up loud enough. Again, the soundboard person's fault. Not the band. All in all a typical Buffett show. I would have liked to see Jimmy sing "Cairo" with the girls, but they did a great job on their own. Highlights for me were right after the break when Jimmy sang "Presents To Send You" and shortly after that, "Stories We Could Tell". These were GREAT live versions of these songs which got away from the typical "have-to-play" tunes he normally does and, for me, were VERY moving. These two songs alone were worth the price of the ticket for me. Looking forward to the Orlando show on Thursday. Unless someone can get me into Margaritaville for the Wednesday Club Trini show....?

Review : The show was excellent, but the acoustics left a lot to be desired. We were among the "unfortunates" who sat in back of the stage in the "nosebleed" section. All of Jimmy's talking was garbled and we couldn't hear it clearly, because of the reverberation in that building. The songs were clear enough, probably because I know all the words. But my husband and 11-year-old daughter, both attending a concert for the first time, couldn't understand all the songs because they didn't know the words. Again, same reason, reverberation from the arena. This was a first for me, because I've never sat anywhere but on the floor for one of Jimmy's concerts, but didn't get tickets in time to get "good" seats. But, the concert was good, the music great, and seeing JB live again after too many years was a great experience for me. I long for the days when he used to play in Fort Myers, Florida, every year, but I am quite certain he's outgrown the Lee County Arena. Those were the days...

Review : I attended the Nov. 30 show at the Ice Palace in Tampa. It was great. I wore my homemade Buffett hat and had many, many complements on it. I have pics. If I knew how to attach one, I would. The pilots on my United flight out of Dulles had their pic taken with me when we arrived at Tampa airport. That Fri my sister & her husband took me to Margaritavlle at Universal Studio. What a great place! The Volcano Bar is quite an experience. Buffett is a great entertainer! I have had a down year. I could not get concert tickets to shows in my area (Merriweather or Nisson Pavillion). I lost my dog of 13 years. I have problems with depression anyway, and losing my dog added to them. I was having a hard time enjoying life since May when I lost her. Not getting concert tickets made me more depressed. I was looking for a way to "bounce back" and knew that seeing Jimmy would help. His music helped through a terrible depression about 8 years ago. After attending the concert at Ice Palace, I think I am on the rebound. I am finally listening and singing Jimmy's music again. Twice he has helped me. I wish I could thank him. He is one great guy!
