Just back, and still trying to get my feet back on the ground after what I believe was the greatest weekend this parrothead can remember-- spending a few days in my favorite place on earth, meeting and shaking hands with THE MAN; getting my 10 year old first edition Tales From Margaritaville the signature it deserves; saying hello to Savanna, Jane, Cameron, and Delaney; meeting and sharing flights with Mike Utley, Robert Greenidge, Peter Mayer, Nadirah Shakoor, and Charleston, Jimmy's bodyguard; listening to a steel drum band from St Martin under the stars; celebrating Le Select's 50 th with Marius Stakelborough, a friend and truly remarkable person; rubbing elbows with Jimmy and Savannah in Le Select at 1:30 AM after the show; watching a photoshoot with Jimmy and his plane Monday morning in the tall grass at the airport in St. Jean; oh, and uh, generously exercising my liver with rum punch and Heinies in between all the above. What more could a person ask....except for a great show Saturday night!

Review : Parrothead dream--Bubba in paradise. The show was preceded by a steel drum band in Le Select, happy hour with free rum punch, and a soca band from St.Martin. Great selection of Buffett tunes in a really laid back setting, as well as some new covers I had not heard him do ("No Woman, No Cry, Can't Always Get What You Want"). Jimmy and the Reefers really seemed to enjoy themselves, while their families enjoyed the show from the bridge of a private yacht docked nearby (Mrs. Buffett's favorite was definitely "Will Play For Gumbo"). Only negative was the absence of "Fingers" Taylor, Tina Gullickson, and the horns, ala Amy Lee. Show concluded with fireworks over the harbor of Gustavia...A night to remember!

Review : The most unique venue since the 1986 Save the Salt Ponds concert in Key West. Truly a beautiful island paradise. Staying at the Manapany with the band made it all the more interesting. Nice folks, although don't talk to them before breakfast or coffee. 150% energy. 1000%effort. Jimmy was "on" and "hot". Long pants and shoes at first kind of threw us, but the bare feet which followed made us feel at home. So great to see the family involved but Cameron and his buddy really wanted to be doing something else. Truly a memorable experience and the type of event which should be repeated from time to time as charity fund raising event ie the upcoming Sag Harbor sing for the school. The boy just keeps getting better and better but must say between shortness of breath before the show, and obvious problems talking on Sunday needs to take care of that throat. Ready to go back any time any day.
