Sag Harbor Benefit Show
Long Island - Nov 20th, 1999

Jimmy Buffett did a special acoustic solo show in Sag Harbor on Long Island (seats 300 people). It's was a benefit show for the Montessori school, which his youngest daughter Sarah Delaney attends. Jimmy said he has chosen a set with a nautical theme. Jimmy asked where is the Metro Parrothead Club and said "does this get me off the hook for no show at Jones Beach, finally? ... We're coming back next year".

Set List:

1) The Weather is Here, I Wish you were Beautiful
- picked this because it has a reference to Long Island (Jimmy has a senior moment)
2) Boat Drinks
Mentions the Church of Buffett on the internet doesn't think he's done anything worthwhile since 1976
3) Presents to Send You
Let's get the drive-in theater back ... Jimmy changes to a new guitar
4) Grapefruit - needs the lyric sheet
Jimmy mentions the kind of show he would do, and the people on the internet wanting to hear the ballads
5) Lone Palm - (Jimmy refered to it as "No bird flies by my window", probably the original name of the song)
6) Life is Just a Tire Swing
7) Brahma Fear - song came as a result of Rancho Deluxe .. those bulls are big
 Morris' Nightmare
Mentioned seeing the musical the Jolly Mon nearby during the summer. The studio out in California, the one with a mouse wanted to make it into a movie
9) Jolly Mon
10) Banana Republics
Told the Bufford Pusser story
11) God's Own Drunk
This old man .. Jimmy's turned into Yanni
12) 12 Volt Man
Mentions watching the Millionaire show. I want Monty Hall ... shameless entertainment.
13) Door Number 3
14) Distantly in Love
A school in Louisanna teaches an acredited course in geography based on Jimmy Buffett songs
15) Migration
16) Son of a Son of a Sailor

Encore
17) Margaritaville -- the new live album mentions the lost verse ... didn't realize it was already out on an album back in the 70s. Jimmy stops for the crowd to do Salt, Salt, Salt. in french Sell, Sell, Sell
18) Southern Cross

Review : I thought the concert was great! It was great to hear him talk and interact with the crowd as much as he did. As he said, "you can't do that at the big shows". I thought the set list was really good. Hope he adds some of those to the "big shows". I just wish I could have been there.

Review : Just by looking at the set list everyone should be able to realize this was one of his greatest shows. More importantly though, it gave me the opportunity to understand what a great performer he really is. He can work a crowd like no one else, and contrary to what he says, he is a fabulous guitar player. Many people I talk to at shows tell me that the greatest day of thier lives is the birth of their first child. I am only 24 and have no plans for kids in the near future, so I can honestly say that so far this was the greatest night of my life.

Review : I didn't hear the show live. I'm just finishing Real Audio from the other site. This show is amazing. between the song selection and of course the in between comments and stories. Jimmy thinks the live album is selling well. Jimmy, wherever you are, monitoring this website, please issue this show on a CD. It would be a prize possesion for all Parrotheads. And Jimmy, please convince my wife why seeing my second 20 shows make fiscal sense. Thanks, Andy Horning

Review : Listened to the show Sat. on the internet. Thought it was a great show. Jimmy by himself is awesome. It's like when he plays the bars around the old home town, Mobile. It also reminded me of Telluride in '80, which I have on tape. Both excellent solo concerts. PHINS UP!!

Review : I absolutely loved the show. I only wish Jimmy would do more of these types of shows. The set list was fantastic and it was wonderful to hear just Jimmy and his guitar. That's the kind of "live" CD I'm looking for....the man and his music....pure and simple. Keep it up, Jimmy. This is what your true fans love to hear!

Review : Just an awesome show! I've been to over 50 JB shows and I love the acoustic ones. It's been a long time since he has done one. The last acoustic show I saw was in college at Ohio State back in '79 or '80. This show brought back a lot of memories from that show (especially "God's Own Drunk"). Just looking foward to the Orlando show on Dec. 2nd.

Review : I stayed up to hear the Jimmy Buffett Benefit Show, from the Bay Theatre,Sag Harbour, over the internet,in the early hours of Sunday morning,it was well worth staying up to hear this incredible two hour show with Jimmy Buffett'unplugged'. The song list was amazing too with classics such as 'Life Is Just A Tyre Swing'with Jimmy adding a few verses of Kaw-Liga and Jambalaya, we were also treated to a rare performance of 'God's Own Drunk'.Overall a fantastic one-man show. I hope they release the entire recording on a cd. I also hope Jimmy Buffett makes a tour of England one day, it would be much welcomed arrival to these shores.
