Travelling from south central PA to the Star Lake Amphitheatre, the weather was cold and rainy. So, we packed ponchos, plastic "blankets" and extra layers of clothes. As we arrived closer to the venue, the sun came out and welcomed us !! (or maybe Jimmy brought it with him???)
I saw Buffett in '92 and '95 (both shows at the Star Lake) and I must say that this was the best show I've seen yet. The set list seemed to hit the spot for all of us dancin' on the lawn. Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts were everywhere -- and that's just what the guys were wearing!
Jimmy was sporting a blue t-shirt and orange shorts as he and the Coral Reefers took us to the moon for a two set/two encore show full of high energy and plenty of classic Buffett fun. He seemed to smile and dance more than I can recall. It's as if he was having more fun here in Pittsburgh than he was in Miami for the "Live By The Bay" video. I couldn't believe it!
Of course all references to Pittsburgh were greeted with applause. I found the tongue twisting ad-lib in Brown-Eyed Girl hilarious -- "..going down the Monongahela River with the Allegheny (with a) transistor radio."
Jimmy kept making references to starting the weekend early (it was Thursday) and the fact that it didn't rain. All day I kept hoping they would play "Stars On The Water" and sho 'nuff it was the second song !! "Ringling Ringling" was a highlight for me, being a huge fan of the obscure songs as well as the hits. "Southern Cross" was another treat, as I had never heard the Coral Reefers play this classic song. The 6 songs from Beach House were great fun to hear in the live setting. Even the "must-do's" were tackled with a freshness that ignited the crowd!
Until next time, I'll be "Waiting For The Next Explosion"
It should be no surprise that this show sold out in 20 minutes! Reminiscing about this show reminds me of why I became a Buffett fan in the first place. He did take us above the clouds. Do we have to come back to earth?

I heard it over Radio Margaritaville...isn't technology amazing. I saw a few shows early on this year in Charlotte, Camden and Nissan and he played a few different songs...than he did tonight...I like that. I think that every show will be broadcast over the internet...I have just one complaint: the internet simul-cast wasn't the clearest reception ever and it kept making fuzzy noizes...other than that great!! Take Care!!

What a great show last night at Starlake amp. Jimmy looked like he had so much fun dancing and singing for over 2 and 1/2 hours. It was the best show I have ever seen Jimmy put on. He had so much energy and really had a great time. The crowd was great, dancing all night. If Jimmy is listening, please don't stop touring any time soon.

I heard the show on the internet. It sounded great. One complaint though... the encores were not included in the broadcast. It was a real disappointment. Since I went to both shows in Camden, I took a real liking to Pacing the Cage, and I would have really liked to have heard that last night. Other than that, it was a great show. Lots of energy, and a little different setlist which is always good. I can't wait to hear the next one, and I hope that the encores will be included this time.

Just came back from a fantastic concert. Jimmy put on a great show, and his new Beachhouse on the Moon is really good. The fans were packed in and the weather was great. Next year Buffett better be in Pittsburgh more than just for one show. There are way too many fans in the area for only one night. Math Suks and You Call it Jogging were two of my favorite new songs, and of course all of the old favorites..

What a great show, Jimmy was as good as I have seen him. Beach house on the moon songs were great and the parking lot at Starlake is like no other. Everyone is so friendly and laid back, you don't have to worry about security or police as long as you're under control. What other concert can you goto with your college friends, brothers, parents and grandma. Jimmy truely is family entertainment....and math still sucks.

Can't add much that hasn't already been said. When Jimmy introduced "Ringling Ringling" he said that this song should take you back to the days of the Syria Mosque! Well, that venue has been torn down for 10 years now but I remember! Let me say that hearing the pedal steel in the bridge to "Come Monday" brought chills up my spine. And the choreography to "Cairo" was outstanding! The best new songs to come across live were Semi-True stories and Pacing the Cage.
