Ilo Ferreira and Nadirah Shakoor in Chicago August 27th!
Ilo and Nadirah will perform at Cactus Bar & Grill in Chicago on Thursday Aug 27th from 9-11pm. Show is 21+ and drink specials will be offered:
$3.00 Pints of Modelo on Draft
$10.00 Carafes of Peach or Red Sangria
$5.00 all bomb shots
$5.00 Margaritaville margaritas on the rocks
$20.00 Mexican beer buckets 5 of your choice in bucket Corona, Corona Light, Dos XX, Negra Modelo, Pacifico, Sol, Tecate and Tecate light.
I'd have loved to see Ilo and Nadirah, but it'll be my girls 2nd day of school, and just a wee bit too irresponsible on my part to venture out late to downtown Chicago for this one.
I hope many many many of you will make the trek, and report in.
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave
I wish I could go too, but I will be on the road by 7 that morning driving from Iowa to work, and have to be up at 5:30 Friday morning, so a Thursday night concert just isn't fitting into my life

Wino you know wrote:Well, I didn't get to go. I wasn't able to get last night off from work.
So I'll be heading out in the morning for the far side of the cornfield.
(If Eastern Iowa isn't under water by then).
My drive was a whole lot of fun

I'll bet it was, Ellen.
Especially knowing your drive took you near the town of Marengo, which is almost entirely covered with a foot of water.
Thankfully I live on some high ground.

The interstate was fine when I drove it at 6:30 this morning

I drove home from work at that same time on highway 6 (which runs parellel to I-80), and it hadn't started raining yet.
When I took my dogs to their sitter in South Amana at 4:30 PM I needed Noah and his Ark.
Your drive also took you past the South Amana exit-# 225-on the way to Grinell, it's just down the road from my exit-# 230 (Oxford).

I know exactly what you are talking about--the college is on 6 and I take 6 when we go to the Amanas and know that exit as well.

Wino you know wrote:So then you know where Marengo is. (Very close to Homestead in the Amana Colonies). Homestead is a bit more than 3 miles from my house.
Anyway, enjoy your stay on the Isle of Iowa. I'm off to sandmanland. 3:30 AM comes awful early.
I am back in Chicago--came back early Thursday. Drive carefully tomorrow!
